HL is so slow my divi is not even pending, but I always remember Worn out Bucket 'When we buy a stock we like the price to drop so we can buy more at a better price.' And I'm in BATS for the divi income as part of my retirement incomes so over the next two years price drops are buying opportunities. K.

Short term pain long term gain is the way to look at it right now with stocks like BATS in my opinion.

Good luck all 👍🏻

Everything gets sold off, good, bad and ugly to pay for loses elsewhere, if we hold above 2700p next couple of days that's good. Just a case of battern down the hatches, off to golf forget about it.

Problem is traders sell the winners to pay for losers.

Yes, rotation into large dividend payers as interest rates start to fall.

#Hope1815, investors have had 2 years to load up on depressed shares while interest rates have climbed from next to zero, peaked, and are now coming off..

A strategy I adopted has been to gradually do this with the expectation that as interest rates cool, defensive/value and high yielding shares will start to shine as cash deposit rates reduce, and the rising tide effect of lower rates reducing company debt interest would raise more boats than it leaves behind..?

BATS was a case of waiting for an entry and that came along at c2300 on the back of the asset write down, but we make our own luck by being patient, and keeping fingers crossed before clicking the mouse.. :o)

Some evidence of gains being priced in over July ahead, but the FTSE100 has made no material gains since April overall..?, the driver on Friday for the -100 points was the sell off over the pond though and we will have to see how that rebounds (or deepens), but their indices recovered into the close..

I see PM is only just shy of its all time high and Altria with all its troubles with Juul is a third off its all time high yet both IMB and BAT are 50% off their all time highs. There must be more value to be had from these two you would think in terms of their share price No wonder Shell and other companies think about having their HQ in the US.Stocks over there have the advantage of increased liquidity in the market, bigger exposure etc.One can but dream

"I'm here for dividend income.Depending on what Labour unveils in their autumn budget i might go back into property if dividends ie unearned income is going to be clobbered......which is what i suspect"

Isn't rent from a second property deemed as "unearned"

In a company wrapper? Lower corp tax than unearned income tax wager?
