Generic question(not BATS specific). Are people thinking of selling non tax free investments before CGT goes up. Cannot see how it wont? The one investment I bought outside wrapper was RR and it is up over 400% so my CGT will be c£25k even b4 labour raise

With Labour taxes coming, I just hope they leave Isa's alone. If they leave alone, income and capital gains free, going to be a massive bonus.

Pensioninvestor - because there are some sad, sad people crawling around these threads. Many suffer the same issue.

To explain, ONLY those names you see displayed in blue (they pay ADVFN for a subscription) have the ability to down-tick.

I've never had any downticker show a backbone and explain why they have marked down. I consider such to be akin to jellyfish - just more smelly. 🤣🤣🤣

Limp - in EVERY respect.

Sadly the ESG investment negativity towards big oil, tobacco etc still prevails among many fund manangers so one has to be realistic as an investor here.Regulation is still always a risk around tobacco and a smoke free future with cigarette alternatives isn't a given yet.Still IMB and BATS are offering great annual shareholder returns so take advantage of that fact imho.

Do we think this could return to the 6000 of 5 years ago? Is there any reason why not? In mine feeble brain the divi is still around 5 when this hits 4800 and still a decent return.

Difficult to call in the short term but I think 2900 is very possible.

That would then open up 3000 as when the interest rate starts to come down the yield here at that level is still super attractive.

Good luck all 👍🏻
