Out now . In in HSBA |
The scramble for yield is on now with interest rate cuts starting. |
The cap on the lifetime pension allowance is bound to come back into play in my opinion as is a reduction of the £60k current contribution limit.
I think though they raise the previous caps so go with £50k / £1.2m or something.
Good luck all and sorry for going off topic sort of 👍🏻 |
#Supermarky, anything is possible, but IMO they will raid all the other soft targets before ISA dividends, but a ceiling could come for the fund size for dividend income tax exemption..?
IF that were to happen, ISA holders could rotate out of income stocks and go for CG growth funds instead to reduce taxable income, 1 problem at a time and see where we go next on crytallising a CG inside the tax free wrapper..
Just thinking out aloud as it is 1 of my fears too, the current dividend allowance of 500 quid has already been whittled away to next to zip.. |
Surely they will not touch stocks and shares isa dividends |
momentum is here nowadays |
May also ramp up IPT rate. Currently 12%. In 2023 £1.88bn was raised at this 12% rate.
£2.35bn would be raised (at least) if the rate went to 15% |
Exactly why the ISA tax wrapper is such a gem, but we will have to see what tax raids come 1st, if income tax, NICS and VAT are left untouched as promised, the priority taxes will be..
IHT CGT LTA ceiling re-introduced [edit] Pension contributions relief Director dividend tax has already been ramped up by the Tories, but may also get hiked..? |
I'm here for dividend income.Depending on what Labour unveils in their autumn budget i might go back into property if dividends ie unearned income is going to be clobbered......which is what i suspect. |
Compound investments is the best way atm the trend is your friend |
These shares are still half the price they were back in 2016 so reinvesting the money even at these levels isn't too bad if that's your investing strategy. |
You and me and lots of others too no doubt lol |
Dam I want cheaper shares Friday to reinvest Divi lol |
I hope big tobacco will replace the government official who introduced this new ban in Indonesia.. just like they replaced that government official in Nigeria who issued a fine against BAT. |
The drop today i think is the reaction to Altria's results today which didn't paint a pretty picture on cig volume declines. However as this is a known factor already and represented in the share prices of big tobacco i'm sure it's just a hiccup.Still very profitable businesses. |
Bit of a tussle here between bulls and bears, we want 2850p, bears want back to 2550p. |
Really encouraging to see BATS having a go at 2800!!
Agree that with the broadening out from big tech and the ever closer rate cuts that challenge of 3000 looks more and more likely at some point next month.
Good luck all 👍🏻 |
I know Deutsche bank raised to 3500p, be nice if analysts put a timeframe on forecasts. |
2 steps forward 1 back, but we collect our dividends tax free in an ISA on the way.Labour she's going to hit savers come Oct. |
I just can't see any resistance until 30 |
Payday Friday, then a whole 13 weeks until the next one, lol. |
Waiting for upward trend to reach atleast 2900p. |
Who knows, but well done having RR the one that got away from me. |
Generic question(not BATS specific). Are people thinking of selling non tax free investments before CGT goes up. Cannot see how it wont? The one investment I bought outside wrapper was RR and it is up over 400% so my CGT will be c£25k even b4 labour raise |
