stonedyou: I am a British Citizen and hold my BATS shares in a Self Invested Personal Pension (a SIPP). All capital gains and all dividends are free of UK taxes. The South Africa tax authorities take nothing from me.
I can only guess that you are a South African citizen from your response in post number 8553. Thanks for the update. |
BATs yield is delicious and juicy but not the share price . Too tasty to be eaten 😊 |
Looks like we are headimg down again. I can see it going below £22 ex div.
Is market discounting a divident cut? Maybe. |
15% taken in tax from US dividends.
Good luck all 👍🏻 |
stonedyou: I'm not sure I follow your post number 8550. I'm guessing you are a South Africa resident and their tax regime demands 20% of dividend income?
Any way to legally avoid that? I'm UK resident but just curious on a slow day in the market.
Appreciated in advance but no worries if you don't respond. |
Dipped a toe back in this morning at 2,314p to accompany an existing large position in IMB. Was last in 2½ years ago. Will add if it continues to fall. Good luck longs. |
Absurd valuation.
The market has got things so wrong in so many ways but "when the tide goes out you will learn who's been swimming naked". |
Will dip my tow in market next week. But b4 budget. |
This is a worthy income player in the ISA pot at current price but no idea what market will do with it after xd. So if your a LTH just looking to dump a few quid for income then not a bad choice |
Action yes I agree however I still got some in the pot |
BAT better buy with divi end on 21.03.24 |
08.02.2024 - we continued to make good progress towards reaching the middle of our 2-3x adjusted net debt to adjusted EBITDA range reaching 2.6X in 2023..
We continue to expect to deliver cGBP40BN of cumulative free cash flow over the next five years, and remain committed to a progressive dividend. Once our leverage target is reached, we will evaluate further opportunities to return excess cash to our shareholders..
So by H1 results time we should be bang on mid range debt to EBITDA, then possibly a special dividend, a buy back program..? and/or enhanced deleveraging (debt GBP40BN), either way it will be value adding and good for shareholders.. |
Just a link to Bats -

Yup, a static share price here until April the 6th please... :o), we might even get a lift in the ISA allowance in next weeks spring budget as it has been stuck for 7 years now, and the SIPP limit got as +50% lift last year.. |
Supermarky
Well the odious c*nt that is chancellor cant screw "savers and the prudent" any more so traditional targets likely to face a tightening due to demand for money to profligate on woke causes. |
Superb 58.8p every 13 weeks. ISA income boys, includes me, don't want Bats much higher before 5th April.10%pa yield paid quarterly. My 20,000 grand straight in 6th April, lol. |
I do wonder if the chancellor will ramp up taxes on junk food, alcohol, fizzy drinks, all the processed foods. There wouldn't be tooch much left to buy in the supermarket if we did actually clamp down in all of life's naughty things. |
10.08 Divi at this price!! |
IMB not iAG |
BATS dropped . The main reason is Uk Chancellor likely yo put taxes on vape in next week budget already IAG fell over a pound yesterday . |
Thanks for that |
