05/7/2009 20:05 | Although previously sceptical about making such assumptions, my thoughts now are that they are getting a healthy conversion rate (over 3%) and further more that these paying sites are the ones with the bulk of the traffic so they skew the Alexa charts...ie 80% of the traffic driven by 20% of the networks...So, the Alexa charts represent 20% of the true traffic (kind of - at an educated guess...) :-) Of course there are probably monster sites on SocialGO but they only pay one subscription so lots of traffic does not mean lots of money necessarily...we shall soon find out but i'm quietly confident about their progress... | carl79
05/7/2009 18:41 | I see that the alexa chart has fallen Is this due to the fact that they are getting much better conversion rates from free to premium, as was mentioned by WL? Or would that just be wishful thinking? Next announcement will be very interesting, given the (unofficial) news we have been getting... | the analyst
05/7/2009 11:57 | got it cheers... | carl79

03/7/2009 12:36 | Hey ta. do u know much about php coding? | olly94
03/7/2009 12:33 | Sure digger, post you email and I'll let you know I have to warn you, though - for me, 'spare time' has basically been 40hrs a week - i.e. the time when other people are watching tv in the evening, playing around with ipods, playing games, going out to watch films, going on trips at the weekend etc. Setting up the websites, building content and getting them monetized took me a full year (back in 2006/7), because the domains were new and google takes its time giving new sites (i.e sites that have only just started to create content) authority. Since 2007 I have seen revenue and profit rise strongly each and every quarter, despite the economic environment So, now I have both my self-employed investment business, which is a full time job and also my internet business, which is another full time job (even though I consider that to be my spare time job) Cheers | the analyst
03/7/2009 11:41 | the analyst - 1 Jul'09 - 00:21 - 4320 of 4328 Cheers Carl, I agree 100%. The ones being left behind just don't "get it", which is good for us. Even someone like me, being "old fart" aged (mid 30s!) has managed to build a few web sites in my spare time and bring in extra income of a few grand a month. It's really not that difficult and I only use WYSIWYG with a little bit of html Hey ta - now I am an old fart..an unemployed old fart. Am interested in what you say re building web sites as a few grand or even one grand a month would get me out of a tight spot. Would you care to elaborate off bb as I could do with some pointers on how to go about this?? Cheers digger | digger27
03/7/2009 09:00 | we can but hope TA...I think my timing was wrong on this one (just as it was with GGG) but I think that I will eventually make lots of cash from both...well, thats the dream | carl79
02/7/2009 09:26 | "Don't they all have to pay? Not like the SocialGo set up - no feebies..." Good question, but it's not as straightforward as it seems We know that all the networks registering right now are having to pay, but many of those that registered at the beginning did so for free before the pricing was announced. Loads of them directly from ning thinking it was going to be a very cheap service (if not free, like ning) I remember that when the pricing plan was announced, there were quite a few zocku network owners that didn't want to pay the price - they went on to use other services like grou.ps etc. We also know from the payment processing area, you get given a billing number. That was up to 425 this time last month and growing by around 80-100 per month. How many of those went on to pay, though? We don't know. Some, like the bills from my 13 test sign-ups obviously didn't pay! Others may have had processing errors and had to go through the process again (happens a lot with payments), so creating two billing codes for a single network. I hope that there are 1000 paying networks, but my guess is that it is more like 250-500 and growing by around 50-100 per month I'll remain sceptical until we see official figures, but yes, it does look good... | the analyst
02/7/2009 06:18 | Well done 77Monty! TA, Don't they all have to pay? Not like the SocialGo set up - no feebies... This must mean that BGT are generating at least £30k a month from Zocku...I therefore guess at the following... Zocku - 30k per month / £360k per year SGo - 30k per month / £360k per year ( assuming current conversion to be around 3% @ an average of £15 a month This revenue is a a ways yet from gettign to B/E but it is a great improvement of where they have come from in terms of regular, sustainable income that looks set to grow! Come the time of results, I would expect them to be generating over £1M per year in revenue - hopefully at good margins... Aimo of course... | carl79
01/7/2009 22:23 | Nice find Monty! If over 1000 have registered, I wonder how many of those are active and paying? | the analyst
01/7/2009 21:58 | So was browsing Zocku's home page (for research purposes, I'm sure you'll understand) and the live chat icon came up. I clicked on it as I was surprised a small company could keep it going and Alex answered. I was staggered when he said this. Good news wouldn't you say? | 77monty
01/7/2009 17:52 | There has been a bit of buying recently - not a lot, but not bad. Should be due a tick up soon. | 77monty
