Growing company in a sector which the government will be boosting over the years. Pays a dividend as well.

Great long-term buy/hold.

IMHO.

Trading update. Excellent news.
Brickability Group plc ("Brickability" or "the Company" or "the Group"), the leading construction materials distributor, is pleased to provide the following update on trading.

Following the Interim Results for the six months ended 30 September 2020 the Group has continued its strong recovery and the lockdown measures since November 2020 have had little material effect on trading. Furthermore, throughout the pandemic the Group has maintained rigorous cost control while continuing to make acquisitions and other strategic investments.

As indicated in the Interim Results, the market for its products continues to improve and the fundamentals for housebuilding remain strong. Additionally, the Group had undertaken significant preparation for the UK's departure from the European Union on 31 December 2020 and has seen no negative impact to its trading arising from this.

The Group's order books reflect the underlying optimism that, given the need for more homes to be built and Government support for house building, demand will remain strong for quality building materials.

As a result of the above, the Group now expects an adjusted EBITDA* of at least GBP16 million for the full year to 31 March 2021.

*Adjusted EBITDA is defined as earnings before interest, tax, depreciation, amortisation, exceptional and acquisition costs.

No doubt reliability and product catalogue is key for BRCK. The McCann acquisition a few weeks ago is a smart, pro-active move ahead of Brexit. Should help to keep the cogs turning and keep costs down. Imagine being in contention with other customers when your 3rd party logistics service is having to muddle back and forth with customs. Having your own logistics ensures you give yourself priority service. But despite this, I wonder whether any of their europe-sourced products might still be getting switched to local alternatives due to intractible costs and delays, esp. if the imports are hitherto a USP ?

I'm in at 58p as of Christmas Eve. Afaics, builders merchants and construction works can continue in tier 4 areas with appropriate measures and precautions.

It looks like there are going to be big delays at the borders from 1st January. Anyone know what proportion of our brick purchases are imported from Europe?

I've been researching this company with a view to buying in, albeit current year's EBITDA is expected to come in 20% lower than last year's. But they are a growing company, I see, mainly by acquisitions. So what raises a potential red flag for me is the fact they've just committed 3.45 million to buying a new warehouse. That's fine if they are borrowing most of the money to pay for it but if they are using their cash pile then that would be terrible use of their money. Can anyone confirm how they are paying for it? I could not find that detail.

great strategic move today and did not overpay for the acquisition.

also, hints of more acquisitions to come:

"The team continues to identify and evaluate opportunities to deliver the IPO promise, retaining its focus on diversification and expansion."

Seems there's a seller that needs to clear, once that happens looking for this to head back up to 70p.

All IMHO.
