Why would woodford sell?

There is still no TR-1 to state that he actually is. Look at PURP - there's a TR-1 just released there to say he's gone from 21.5% to 19.25% today. If they had started selling BBSN then he would have crossed a threshold and had to notify. I'm sure Woodford will eventually sell his BBSN stake, but hopefully they will offload such a large holding to another insti.

The question is how far will Woodford's selling drive down the price? 1.35p support

Once Woodford is gone it will fly imo unless there is bad news before then of course.

I wonder if the CFO got a whiff of Woodfords troubles before he sold part of his holding, bearing in mind how much had already been withdrawn from the fund over the past year.

I expect Woodford would have had conversations with the Chairman and CEO together with the House Broker to see if they could find someone or a couple of large investors to take the stake off their hands, rather than trying to drip feed it into the market.

Woodford will be out or stop selling soon. The fact is this is too cheap at GBP 9m market cap. On my wstclist are a few tech companies on AIM and all loss making with market caps of GBP 20m+.Bids has GBP 90m market cap with revenue expected GBP 5m this year. The selling over last 2 months has driven this to insanely cheap level. Imo a fairer market cap will be 4 times today's value.

The Woodford thing is ultimately a bit of a sideshow. The question that actually matters if you're going to be invested for more than 5 minutes remains the same: can Kate steward the company to a decent profit?

If they can sell the entire block of 100m then yes they'll go from 18% to zero, but if they have a sell order working with their broker to offload at 25% of volume then they will have to notify each time they cross a % threshold.

Yes but only when their trade is completed. If an investor sells 6M shares and goes from 18% to 17% they will have to declare. If they then sell another 6M they will have to declare. If they sell 100M then they only need to declare that they have gone from 18% to "below 3%" when it's completed.

No they don't, they have to notify when doing above or below every % threshold above 3%.

Dplewis, big investors only have to notify when they have finished selling or buying their stake. So if Woodford places an order to sell 100M then he only needs to notify when the order is completed...

They might have been granted a wavering note, due to the circumstances and size

There has been no TR-1 from Woodford so I can only assume they have not sold any. Maybe they are only liquidating assets over a certain value at the moment and this doesn't meet the criteria as it's only worth a couple of million?

If Woodford holds 100M odd shares, and volume has been approx 100M over the last few days, then logically he is almost half 'out'? Maybe more if he also sold some a few weeks ago in the fall fall from 3p?

Just looking in after a tip, looks quite interesting in value terms. The recent results showed good growth in revenues, and they have plenty of cash (albeit they seem to do the usual trick of window-dressing their cash balances for the end of their FY).They seem to have some excellent online properties too!My concern is whether they will manage to turn an actual profit this year? Revenue is vanity, profit is sanity etcThe Woodford position could also hold back the share price in the short term. And why did the current CFO sell 1M shares not long ago? Thanks for any comments.

NR

There probably are, but if you're looking that far ahead, imo better to concentrate on whether you think they are likely to get a sustainable part of what is a rapidly changing and very diverse market in monetising traffic.
