Will the recent carnage in bond yields not have seriously helped the deficit here???

I used to go to the AGMs until a few years ago. The attitude of the Board was one of arrogance and little respect for the owners of the company and, when it became too uncomfortable for them to hold these meetings locally, they upped roots and took the AGM to London with the associated costs of doing so. I guess this was to prevent the local vocal owners turning up and asking awkward questions. Says it all.
I looked at other companies and have done really well at W7L who seem to care about their shareholders, respect them and, allow open zoom access to results presentations. A whole different feel to them and just solid performance.

"The competitors in similar markets are doing well ..." really???? take a look at REVB !!

Dipike - u R absolutely right, competitors are indeed doing well so there is no excess for BA, other than having an incompetent BOD. What are Soros et al waiting for - they paid nearer to 300p for their shares!

Late again - often a prelude to bad news or a desperate scramble for something remotely positive. The competitors in similar markets are doing well ... let's hope for better news.

I agree with baner - something has gone off the rails here.
Looking at their offering, there is no coherent, overarching brand, just lots of copies of their competitors inventions. Same stuff, different packet is not attractive to consumers. BA has no intellectual property to sell. They also make out that the products are "premium" but they are sold in discount stores and Morrisons. It just does not add up.

Warpaint PLC presented good numbers this morning - nothing wrong with the market place. What IS wrong is the Brand A strategy - which is clearly the responsibiity of McDowell and his BOD colleagues. They have to be thrown out urgently in order to install more competent persons at the BOD level. McD is indeed a good man when running industrial entities, but in cosmetics he is a bloody disaster.

Is there a long term recovery story here...?

And it goes from bad to worse for us long suffering investors that had IDP stock...first a massive (all relative of course) loss of stock in the conversion and now this for the issued shares in BAR. Dismal.

One of the fines BODs in the market.
Soon to be less than what they paid for IDP.
Bonuses all round I think.

Mark Ward was the large investor and director who essentially "took over" IDP.He funded a loan if I recall correctly, suppose he lost some funds on those investments.
The "deal" meant the post IDP takeover arrangements. All directors got exited except Pyper who was retained into BAR board. That seemed to be the arrangement at the time

This was part the "deal" after the sale approved by the courts as I recall.."Brand Architekts is in discussion with the non-executive directors of InnovaDerma, regarding their resignations from InnovaDerma's board, and with Simon Pyper, in relation to him joining the board of Brand Architekts. " So probably him.

given the terrible performance from McDowell et al in recent years, one would assume Gillenhammar will not sit quite here - clearly there is need for new blood at the BOD to begin with.

Interesting to see Peter Gyllenhammar has quickly built up a 9.34% stake - an activist investor who likes to acquire greater than 25% stakes (to be able to block special resolutions) in troubled companies. His initial 3.59% stake was only announced on 30th June.

it seems the company is bleeding cash in a frightening tempo. the BOD has failed completely with their strategy and the best thing for shareholders would be to sell the company to a better managed entity such as Creightons.

complete fiasco for McDowell, who should now resign. clearly he is not capable of running this kind of business. Soros must be furious with this, having paid ca 200p for their holding.
