Sorry to read you had a stomach upset over the holidays, that's a pain. No pun intended.

I expect Greta was huddled round a candle to keep warm.....I presume candles are allowed but they do give off smoke so perhaps not.

Rishi and the Business team need to educate the Cabinet about the total cost of transition and the damage to the balance of trade over the next 10-15 years if we don't increase our fuel self sufficiency.Simples, but have they the balls?

The exceptionally mild and windy weather is probably what is calming UK and European wholesale gas prices, down to "only" 4x last winter. More likely reason than the story via Bloomberg that there was a flotilla of LNG tankers heading to Europe from the USA, hard to verify those facts. Meanwhile Russian gas we are told continues to flow back out of Europe, and Nord Stream 2 unlikely to be approved before next Summer.

So I have given up trying to understand the gas market.

Not having much more luck with oil, demand should be sharply lower because of Omicron restrictions but the US reports inventory drawdown and prices have firmed up. Why aren't we back in the 60s.

Maybe should just wait for the next trading report from BP hoping that with Brent averaging in the high 70s over the quarter it will be more good news. And personally hoping for the massive paper losses on gas trading and hedging to unravel or at least come with an explanation my small brain can understand.

More buybacks please at this level, still a 10-20% discount on fair price.
