25/4/2016 06:06 | why should bp drop if they cut the divi? whats the shareprice of cop since they cut it 66%? | hellscream
25/4/2016 03:38 | BP did cut their divi following the oil spill, but quickly re-instated it once the full costs became more defined, and their business restructured to cope with those additional costs. IF.... repeat, IF, there is a need to cut the divi during this low oil price period then the (probable?) inevitable drop in the share price would, IMO, represent a great buying opportunity - either for an individual private investor, or a corporate raider. I'm keeping some powder dry for just this possibility.! | steve73
25/4/2016 03:29 | there is not gonna be any bid, 500p is just giving the company away.. gota be at least £10 | hellscream
24/4/2016 20:09 | BP’s global refining margin benchmark declined in the first quarter to $10.5 a barrel, from $15.26 a barrel a year earlier and $13.2 a barrel in the fourth quarter of 2015. Brent prices averaged $35.2 a barrel in the first quarter, 36% lower than a year earlier. Investors will also be seeking reassurance that dividend payments will be maintained, a key factor making Big Oil attractive. So far only Italy’s Eni and Spain’s Repsol have cut dividends in the current downturn. BP struck a cautious tone on dividends this month, though, saying it aimed to maintain payments but could review the payout policy if oil prices remained lower for much longer. | the grumpy old men

21/4/2016 12:04 | Morning all. Been looking through Mrs. P's holdings. I always think I buy well, and was therefore surprised to see that her average price here (BP) is at 378! I know this includes dealing costs and stamp duty, but I must have thought they were good value at the time. Brickies taking a pasting at the moment. There's some good value there. PSN. B.DEV and BKG worth looking at. BKG is a really good trading share at the moment, if you can stomach the swings. Trade well and prosper Earthlings....... | penycae |
