Generally I take a 20p loss then sell and put the money to another share hoping that will be more profitable. The daily and weekly are set fair for BP so lets hope you get your entry point and more this month.

It would appear that there are a number of s/holders preparing to 'jump ship' when the share price reaches 500 or thereabouts.

The Captain wants to make it clear that it is women, children and Elite Guru's first. Any one attempting to cicumvent this ruling will have their divis removed.

the recent Sp strength suggests £5+ in short order.
capital growth AND a good divi that I keep re-=investing. Now that's what I call a useful combination.

News turning in BP's favour, deals being done, embargo's being pushed aside (Iran),rising dividend payment, to me this is looking £5.00 plus.

BP are spending $8 billion (£4.97 billion) on the buyback which I think equates to approx one billion shares.

Shares in issue is 18,821,216,000

One billion is 5.3%.

Is the buyback going to make much difference to the SP?

Enjoyed reading the comments.

When I walk into WH Smiths and I see people picking up Shares mag and IC and reading it on their lunch break I know that we now have a situation similar to the Tech bubble and 2007/8 again as newbies join the party as the experienced people are getting their coats.
I've had a great 4 years of buying in the market and am now all but cash. I'm itching to buy as I see prices rise but my gut feeling is that the 'Ruperts' will pull the plug when everyone least expects it so will enjoy my profits and not give anything back.

I'd love BP. sub £4.00 in my SIPP, patience... and I'm sure I will get it.

QE or Quantitative easing is just a fancy bankers term used to disguise something that is distasteful to many people, mainly anyone who saves or is earning a wage or is on a fixed income, and it is a very basic unoriginal idea, that used to be called DEVALUATION,

The market is very much manipulated and manoeuvred. High Frequency Trading makes a mockery of the market. The only thing that appears to count is volatility by one means or another.

Where and when it ends I know not but one thing we can count on is that there will be tears and not of joy.
