Damn..if I'd known it was ex divi day today I wouldn't have sold. Thought it was the start of a retrace due to falling oil prices..my bad!

Ex-div today, so hardly a pull back, as fall today LESS than the dividend.

there's the pullback. now lets see BP stabilise around 475-480 and build some strength to have a go at 500p.

Go BP!

freedom 97 ,Thank you so much for your concern. I have been reading Portside for a while and he is a really funny individual. However I couldn't resist rubbing his nose in it re Barclays . Agreed with the rest of your post.

glenol, NEVER EVER buy any share without first doing your own research.

Portside was ramping BP here some examples:

portside1 29 Oct'13 - 07:28 - 83675 of 83763

results are good . div to be over 6% next year that's good nes to me and happy to buy more . were else can you get over 6%
and moving forward bp will go over 600p
I look at the future not the past so do funds

portside1 29 Oct'13 - 07:43 - 83680 of 83763

will be buying more today .

Then he posts (Most likely after selling his BP shares):

portside1 29 Oct'13 - 08:32 - 83688 of 83763

barcs to rise over 40p very soon

portside1 29 Oct'13 - 08:37 - 83690 of 83763

buy BARCS NOW buy buy buy

portside1 29 Oct'13 - 20:06 - 83708 of 83763

I sold 50k and bought BARC at 259p

portside1 30 Oct'13 - 08:49 - 83721 of 83763

have now switched all to BARC looking for over 100p rise .

--------------------------------------------------------------

I hope no one followed portside, not only did BP's share price go up after he sold but barc is now way down from the price he bought them at. I have no idea why he thought barc would rise up over 100p. Looks like they are heading the opposite to down 100p. He was posting many times here about how good the Divi is and topping up then the same day sells his BP to buy barc. Classic P & D. Well, unless he buys back today he will miss out on the Divi here.

Looks like it's back fired on him. Didn't he say he has over £800k invested in just two or three companies? barc could still bounce back up, but he could have made more at present by staying in BP and get the Divi he posted about so many times.

As they say always DYOR!

"Israel has given an altimarion to Iran"

Surely Edward Snowden would have told us that Israel is in touch with aliens from altimar?

The altimarians did not succeed with Macondo:

On another post, someone said Israel has given an altimarion to Iran to give up its nuclear ambitions by the end of the month, or else

That a bombing would be good for BP?????

Seems to me the whole world's stock markets would collapse

Bp. Has had a nice little run over the last week. Let's not get carried away this is no tiddler that can rocket. After xd we will no doubt see a retrace. I have sold 2/3 off holding at 490. Even if it goes up a few pence tomorrow makes little difference to me. The time to buy back in is if when it brakes out of the early 500s to new highs.

Shall I say,, I don't reckon that is a breakaway gap.

Cue a move to £5.50.

Robert

It would seem that if the share price reaches 500 it is likely to continue to 510 as it has done previously.

Such an eventuality is likely to cause some distress to he who has the furry financial advisor given that he was suggesting a short at 485ish with a stop at 510 was a suitable trade.

The well-heeled women of Waitrose are the worst - and that's not including the car park antics in their tanks... Besides, me, Waitrose - really?

I actually rarely go near any of them these days, just for the in-store cheapskatery and glitches. Otherwise all online - leaves more time for informed financial analysis and decisive investment. Well OK, it leaves me more time to ruminate on yet another disastrous share decision...

Egg-chasing kicks off this weekend - presumably Peny (he who is filtered) will be optimistic given the Summe success? My allegiances (the Nigels or the men in green) depend on who does best, of course...

Sorry, just realised I haven't included anything about BP. Not for the first time. I'd pay attention to that bracke - anyone who has followed BP this long and stayed the course must know something. Surely?

Morning all.

I bet that Irish git is banging on about some vouchers he picked up at some low-life haunt. No relevance to BP whatsoever, although I see that mitchy is trying to help him out.
If ADVFN had a complaints procedure, I'd send them a strongly worded e.mail about all this. I come here for quality information. I suppose the answer is to renew my subscription (yes, I was blue once)and start one of those pukka threads where you could actually ban the less well-informed.
Now where was I? Yes, BG short closed on a limit order. HL starting to slide. Hope it's not just a Friday thing. Cable good for a long, but with a reasonable stop. (Not on GBP strength, but dollar weakness. BARC still a good play on the 200.
BP - time to slot a few on the darkside from 485/486. Stop just over 510 should provide a nice comfort zone.
Off with the dog.

Trade well and prosper Earthlings......

If you want trolley-etiquette and an emporium which provides for distressed gentility may I suggest Waitrose. Yes they are a little on the pricey side but the ambience is well worth it.
