05/4/2017 07:29 | I suspect this morning's positive response indicates that the market still believes there is another potential buyer out there | brummy_git
05/4/2017 07:04 | thought it might crash this morning... new CEO and perks up.....shows how bad the old CEO must have been | trytotakeiteasy
04/4/2017 09:00 | I think he must have bought a house and believed the insulation rating? | wad collector
04/4/2017 08:25 | What?? Explain please | shaker44
04/4/2017 08:14 | Is the UK about to have a district heating scandal? One needs to ask if house builders and Heat providers are cashing in on installing incorrect heat specification generating extra cash? | communityheat
03/4/2017 10:19 | Disappointed not to see an agreed offer this morning from gfrd, but hopefully it means they're still haggling over price. If there is another bidder, then I would guess they will wait to see if gfrd offers and at what level before revealing their hand. The problem an overseas builder might have is access to the right management to take over from the existing Bovis management - they would presumably want someone with a good track record in the UK market, which might mean poaching from another UK housebuilder. | 1gw
30/3/2017 17:05 | I agree. This isn't over yet.... And the new CEO will be tough to recruit with a for sale sign nailed on... | shaker44

30/3/2017 16:48 | Don't be surprised though if there is another potential bidder in the wings. Once Redrow and Galliford revealed their hands, then it basically hoisted a "for sale sign" on the stock – so Bovis may well attract some other interest, possibly even including overseas housebuilders who want to get into the UK on a cheap given the devaluation of sterling. | brummy_git
30/3/2017 16:30 | It was an all-paper idea though and Galliford's price has come down since then so the value of the Galliford proposal would now be lower. If I remember correctly they have until the 9th to put up or shut up. If they really weren't interested you might expect them to walk away well before then, as Redrow have done. So I presume that talks are ongoing. I guess they might announce something either way on Monday (3rd) - either if they can reach agreement or if they decide the gap is too wide. Although if it's really close I suppose they could continue haggling until the end of the week. | 1gw
30/3/2017 15:32 | Drop overdone?, Galliford offered 886p........ | boggy
30/3/2017 10:43 | Looks like the excitement is over folks , we can all go home now. Still a good hold in my book ; look at the EPS guesses of 88p for next yr. | wad collector
29/3/2017 05:24 | Agree. Share price implying no revised bid coming from Galliford? | jockthescot
29/3/2017 00:54 | Whatever, still great value here but May take longer to unlock organically. | shaker44
28/3/2017 22:45 | The share price has not dropped that much ; suggests the market thinks the Galliford option is feasible perhaps. Or more likely the bubble will burst back to £8 again. | wad collector
28/3/2017 06:17 | Shame about Redrow dropping out. | 1gw
23/3/2017 08:34 | Price hasn't dropped. Was a bargain yesterday. | deadly
22/3/2017 13:49 | xd 30p tomorrow | phillis
22/3/2017 11:22 | In fact I've bought some more bovis at 908p in the hope that the Redrow TU is an indication that they want to be able to submit an offer. | 1gw
22/3/2017 07:56 | A very bullish one at that. Just the sort of thing to try to get their own share price up in case they want to submit a paper offer, one might think. | 1gw
22/3/2017 07:23 | Redrow issued trading statement at Q3 today Unusual Wonder why ...........? | phillis
21/3/2017 18:48 | Perhaps "the seller" on the Bovis side was at least partly shorters. Today's FCA spreadsheet shows Millenium back up and Citadel above the threshold, while Worldquant took a bit off, all making changes on 17th. Shorts 0.52% Citadel (previously below the threshold) 0.64% Millennium (previously dropped to 0.23% on 13th March 0.76% Worldquant (previously 0.82%) All while Blackrock was apparently increasing its net long position by over 3% (i.e. from 4.7% to 7.8%). | 1gw
20/3/2017 16:02 | Blackrock appear to be making a big vote of confidence in BVS & GFRD from today's 8.3's. Haven't seen who the seller was yet. | 1gw
17/3/2017 17:52 | who dumped 4 million shares after the bell at 9.14? | 9degrees |
