11/1/2006 13:44 | It's not that we're not looking, we're just not buying into the long-term story yet. They're a bit late to the party and they don't have a subscriber base like MOB. They create bespoke content for clients (and seem to be very good at it), but ultimately it's a commodity business with little pricing power in the long run. Fine while it's flavour of the month and may well be undervalued but certainly not one to bet the farm on IMHO. But hey, that's just me. | wjccghcc
11/1/2006 13:23 | Surprisingly little interest on this bb? On a £4m m/cap BTR offers inordinately high upside from a now profitable business with cash to spare, in an industry space growing hugely every year. Looks like RHPS are the only ones in on the secret so far. | rivaldo
11/1/2006 13:22 | Wishing you a speedy recovery. The rise today might help ! Regards GHF | glasshalfull
11/1/2006 09:16 | The news even made Forbes headlines :o)) "Blue Star Mobile signs deal with Motorola 01.10.2006, 02:32 AM LONDON (AFX) - Blue Star Mobile Group PLC, which makes entertainment and promotional content for mobile phones, said it has signed a deal with handset giant Motorola Inc. Under the agreement, Blue Star will provide content services to users of Motorola's ROKR handset on the O2 PLC mobile network. The ROKR is the first mobile phone with a built-in iTunes MP3 player, said Blue Star." | rivaldo
11/1/2006 08:36 | Hi GHF, will try to have a look but got the flu now (hopefully not the avian kind)! Good to see the spread closing and the price ticking up. Delayed trades to be reported no doubt. | rivaldo
10/1/2006 13:30 | Hi Further good news I see. Looks like I timed my investment to perfection (similar to your purchase of PGB last week Rivaldo !!) Great potential and all on a tiny market cap which limits any downside. Happy to hold. Regards GHF | glasshalfull
10/1/2006 11:09 | The most you can get on-line now is 1,500 shares! Any more demand and we should see a nice rise. Excellent 1p spread too for those wanting to deal at the moment. | rivaldo
10/1/2006 08:58 | :o)) Funnily enough, though I'm saying this should be a small punt I've actually put my normal "value stock" amount into BTR. I've been convinced myself by: - profitability - £400k of cash and no need for any fundraising - tiny £4m m/cap means blue sky upside - exponentially growing markets - blue chip customer list (see header post) - management that's done it all before - 2006 looking like an explosive year, particularly with the World Cup connection In 2 years' time I'm hoping that with AIM tax relief I'll be paying 10% CGT on anything from a one-bagger upwards to a multi-bagger. It wouldn't take much to see BTR on a £10m valuation in a few months given reported continued profitability, cash generation and new contracts. | rivaldo
10/1/2006 08:27 | OK, you've convinced me rivaldo. Small punt today in these and will dmor today instead of relying on yours. ;-) | njp
10/1/2006 07:57 | Good PR in the Guardian too: "Finally, keep an eye on Blue Star Mobile. The mobile phone content provider firmed 0.25p to 13p yesterday after being tipped in a newsletter and could rise further today on news of a tie-up with Motorola to provide data for its ROKR phone." | rivaldo
10/1/2006 07:17 | A new contract RNS - with Motorola! Doesn't say if it's revenue-sharing or not, but another coup for a £3.5m m/cap minnow like BTR: " Motorola ROKR handset promotion deal Blue Star Mobile Group PLC ('Blue Star'), the AIM listed provider of entertainment and promotional content via mobile phones, announces that it has been awarded a contract to create a unique mobile content proposition exclusively for Motorola to offer to customers when they buy the new ROKR handset through a range of O2 sales channels. The ROKR is the first mobile phone to have a built in iTunes player, enabling music lovers to transfer up to 100 of their favorite songs from the iTunes jukebox on their Mac or PC to their mobile phone. The exclusive content promotion focuses on the Motorola sponsorship of The Brit Awards 2006 which are taking place on the 15 February. When a customer buys the new promotion ROKR they are immediately entitled to 10 iTunes tracks of their choice in addition to 10 ringtones and 10 images from a range of the biggest music artists around the globe. The content, which has a combined value of over £50, is already pre-loaded onto the handset memory card to provide easy access. Steve Clarke, Chief Executive, Blue Star Mobile Group, said: 'Our continuing promotion partnership with Motorola underlines Blue Star's strong credentials in the fast growing mobile content market. We specialise in creating 'added value' for our clients using mobile content which can be used to drive additional sales and to sell more advanced handsets.'" | rivaldo
09/1/2006 14:34 | BTR uses BGO technology. BGO shares have been moving up the last few days. I hold both and look forward to BGO's American and German operations also turning CF+. | harryharris
09/1/2006 14:31 | GHF - Always dipping my toe in here and there :) Only had a very quick look back and actually looks an interesting play here - and might well tuck a few away - there is a nice discussion alittle way back with WJ and Riv on this one which is worth a read as does highlight both pros and cons - and the mention of WNN too (which coincidentally have snapped a few up of late to add to the pot) But a few plus' here would be the guardian tip - which they extensively follow throughout the year - so expect some nice coverage if this starts to move. Think rivaldo summed it up nicely somewhere as a - 'good researched punt' which like most small caps if momentum gets behind it we could see some huge gains. Think the words limited downside and greater potential upside ring to mind... And as mentioned in the Guardians summary - 'the world cup' "Two events coincide in 2006 which should make it a prosperous year for Aim-listed Blue Star Mobile: further growth in mobile data services and this summer's world cup." And have to say quite few smallish buys today, lots snapping up a few ks worth which are available up to 3750 @ 13.38 at the moment. Would like to have a browse of the broker note which I believe is floating about. Anyone have it? seymour Pierce was it? Anyway STAF - cheers - would like to see that roll on well above a quid in due course - not a very well followed stock but a nice trading statement out today, so might start to see some renewed interest. As for BDI am holding 15ks worth - been in it a while actually , and expect plenty of action there (like today) as it breaks to the upside ;) | tole
09/1/2006 13:58 | Hi Tole.....somebone else I stumble across from thread to thread. Well done on STAF today. Have you given BDI a look ? Would also be interested to know what you think of BTR. Regards GHF | glasshalfull
09/1/2006 09:43 | Hi chaps. Thought i'd pop my head in to see what is going on in here. Always some good research from Rivaldo in his stock picks. Had a dummy trade to look at the limits - only 10k on the offer at the full 13.5p as opposed to 50k on tbe bid at a nice price of 13p - .5p above the advertised rate...so could see amove up on the bid soon. Might have to do some reading back on these posts - looks an interesting play. | tole
09/1/2006 09:27 | Yes, liked your 2006 update rivaldo and did my usual digging over the following fortnight. Haven't unearthed anything else of note. Feel there is some momentum here with downside limited. They have a 1st class client list and as the World Cup approaches could see these fly. Regards GHF | glasshalfull
09/1/2006 09:25 | 1500 the max on line !!!!! Had to phone through. Regards GHF | glasshalfull
09/1/2006 08:48 | Very tightly held.....had to buy in 2 stages this morning. regards GHF | glasshalfull
08/1/2006 08:51 | Aim man, thanks, you're a star! Some snippets posted here after subscribers have had time on Monday to buy in would be appreciated. This is the first large-scale recognition of BTR by any tipster that I've seen apart from Derek Pain in the Independent and, on top of the Guardian's tip of BTR as one of its stocks for 2006, leads me to believe that on a £3.5m m/cap it won't take much for a significant move up to occur, especially with the World Cup coming up. | rivaldo
07/1/2006 20:11 | Red Hot Penny Shares has this on its watch list one and a half page article, mentions these could rocket in the next few months!! | aim man
03/1/2006 18:36 | Nice 100k buy this afternoon at the full 13.5p ask... Harry, I see this as a 2-year hold - getting CGT relief for 10% tax with a potential multibagger gain. Let's hope so anyway :o)) | rivaldo
03/1/2006 16:52 | If the share price forecast was issued that recently then I would agree with you that a small loss to £100k PBT appears a reasonable expectation for this year. With the expected exponential growth in the overall mobile content market, then I would hope that BTR profits would grow quickly in subsequent years. | harryharris
03/1/2006 13:21 | Rivaldo, how old is the share price forecast, only the November Guardian article suggested a possible £300k profit for the year, implying about £400k in the second half. With continuing growth this gives the possibility of >£1m profit in 2007 and a PE of 3-4. | harryharris |
