I upload from phone to cloud then pick it up directly from cloud into elevate.
It would indeed be nice if elevate could collect it direct from my phone but going via a cloud server is only a minor step.

HyperAl Thanks for the information about the NBS Creators. The questions are: (1) Are they really filming on mobiles, downloading it onto laptops and sending it to NBC? (2)Who is doing the editing: them in Paris or NBC in the States? (3)If they are doing it in Paris what are they using as their Editor and is it used directly on their mobile or on their laptop.

Exactly, elevate.io needs a mobile app so I can upload directly to my elevate.io server space. It would also be useful to have basic editing functionality so I can clip the junk footage out before upload. Also important to have all the collaboration features installed so I can access projects while on the move and post comments to my team.

The NBC creators sent to the Olympics are professionals IE it appears there main income is from social media.

I think that what worries me most is that there appears to be no direct interface with a mobile phone so an elevate.io user has to have access to a laptop at very least. If I have to download my film from my mobile to my laptop before connecting to elevate.io then non Cloud Native products remain as serious competitors. Those who say that mobile users are not serious video producers clearly have missed the point of the NBC Olympics test of sending Creators with mobiles. If they are right in seeing a vast potential then BIRD may be on the track that seemed right 18 months ago but the market is evolving away from their solution. How many of the 25 (I think) sponsored by NBC are professional creators? They may be aspiring to a career making video but if they are currently amateurs it is the straw in the wind of what may be driving the market forward now.

I note 3x20k purchase. Looks like you can only buy NMS blocks of shares if wanting more than 20k

Dominating the Chromebook market for editing is most interesting

good points on mobile....

clearly elevate.io will work on a phone, although a phone isn't suitable for editing.

however once you throw in collaboration then it can be a game changer.

cyberhub >> "I wonder if a phone interface could still be used at least for the 'approvals' aspect of the collaboration process?"

absolutely, i agree, i think that is how it could be very useful, also leaving comments on the timeline or whatever for the editor/s to action.

Uploading directly to the project from a phone also makes total sense.

once edited, you could certainly easily use a phone to clip and post to various social platforms, this would be a handy feature that might suit a lot of users.
also a phone could be used to clip other creators work and repost it (here is where the player comes in i think)
clipping/reviewing/commenting on other people's work is a massive genre on youtube right now.

The player would be amazing on a mobile phone.
Just imagine scrolling on the screen watching every minute detail.

‘If mobiles cannot be used it severely limits BIRDs potential market.’

You can’t begin to do serious editing work on a mobile phone!

I suspect their are plans for easy upload from a phone with an app.

The video player will work on a mobile phone

Chriscallen, I assume (haven't checked) that Elevate will work on a Chrome browser on a phone, but as stated by others it will be very hard to use. Your broker is not really understanding the product if he thinks it should work on a phone - however it's a reasonable point about why there are so many phones on the marketing in that case.I imagine that Elevate could potentially be used 'more-or-less' on a tablet with a 10-11-inch screen though.I wonder if a phone interface could still be used at least for the 'approvals' aspect of the collaboration process?

I take video on my phone (Samsung S20) for input into an editor...but I would not dream of actually editing it on my phone - the screen is far too small. Even my 21 inch desktop monitor is a bit on the small side for easy editing.

Chriscallen - I’d sack your advisor, get a new one, and ask them to listen to the company’s strategy - it’s all there.

My advisor says that if elevate.io cannnot be used on a mobile it poses several puzzles. How many people film on their mobiles? How many people have a laptop that can be used to film directly? How many people who create video will be bothered to download it to a laptop and even if they do what then is BIRDs competitive advantage over non Cloud Native solutions? Why do so many of their pictures feature mobile phones if their new major product does not work with mobiles? How many people have a mobile but no laptop?

If mobiles cannot be used it severely limits BIRDs potential market.

So the people at BIRD are clever and having a response that says you need a laptop to access elevate.io does not mean that the software will not work on a mobile. It's simply their choice not to make it available now. It could be that they want to make it a big announcement when they release the paying product. It would certainly get publicity and open the door to a much wider market which would concern competitors. It is conceivable that they want to include it in the more expensive options.

But the obvious question is why develop a product that cannot be used by the vast market of mobile users, a market which is growing fast and which the likes of NBC are seeking to harness? Has BIRD misjudged the market and are they now about to miss the bus again?

Debatable not if they get it right I pay £10 a month for Capcut. It's very efficient for what is a mobile Editor. Capcut has developed an excellent feature driven application. If that could be replicated with collaboration, storage and property rights I think that would good us a considerable 2nd market which would be extensive.

I am sure it is on the list - but getting a workable PC version will be more of a priority for the core pro user they are initially after.

They are also more likely to pay i would think than someone only using a mobile.

I'm not sure what the exact differences are between Chrome o/s and android, but the fact that Google recently announced introducing the android stack into Chrome o/s suggests they are small.

Again this is all Google stuff. Strange how so much about our development is related to Google based systems.

Take a look at YouTube 'Create', to me it looks like the ideal mobile front end for mobile elevate.io . To be honest I think it will be. Imho, dyor no investment advice intended.

I would assume resources.

We probably have about 750 users at most.

No need to be developing a mobile app yet.

I wonder why they would develop elevate.io and drop out their mobile knowhow...or is it going to be offered in one of the premium versions?

I have attempted access from my fancy mobile using Chrome bit elevate.io io detects the device and says you need to login via laptop. I did attempt access via Firefox browser, same thing happened.

It sounds silly but has anybody actually used their mobile to join elevate.io? Mine is old and was cheap when I bought it so it might not work.
