BIRD was involved with Olympics before EVS via NBC who own the rights. Unless something has changed.

No advice

EVS have their own editor and infrastructure

Blackbird editor will be used by other clients.

It’s more a prestige thing than money.

Thanks for the clarification Chris/ John RE the use of olympics by name
Other than EVS I wondered , given our tie in with TVU we might be involved there too.
. They are using their ecosystem to deliver total cloud solution. I suppose my thoughts are more about promoting our pedigree/proven success we have had when it comes to using our new product.

If the Olympics is more than £100k I would be surprised.

I think it’s just EVS.

We are probably there as back up just incase something goes wrong.

The Olympics will make no odds to share price anyway.

It’s all about elevate now, cos that’s where the real money will hopefully come from.

We shouldn’t need to support EVS at the event so it suggests a deal with some other organisation but OBS seems the most likely as they go onto feeding everyone else with video content

Maybe the contract is with OBS

jamesjmb It's a direct consequence of having EVS as a customer. BIRD gets revenue from EVS for the usage of its software which is a the heart of a major EVS offering and in addition a potential profit share on top. EVS have the Paris contract so the Olympics are their customer not BIRDs. The only way an announcement can be made by BIRD is if the fees earned from EVS from one of their customers are so large as to become price sensitive and even then to name the parties would usually require their permission. The usual rule of thumb is from memory 10% of turnover or 5% of profits (the latter having no bearing on BIRD currently)

Unfortunately he has been caught up in a big scandal with his co host Ava

James, as Chris said, we work for EVS who works for the Olympics, so we probably are 'involved'.

Mr Beast "the 26-year-old from Kansas now has 306 million subscribers and more than 55 billion views"
"In March, it was announced he was partnering with Prime Video to create Beast Games which has been billed as "the biggest reality competition series" with 1,000 people competing for a $5m prize."

As Prime Video is an Amazon business and AWS helped them with elevate.io I wonder if there is business there for BIRD.

Why would IM keep mentioning those summer games that he can't name?
Surely they must be involved. Or another bit of nonsense?

I don't think BIRD is an Olympics supplier. They do their work for EVS which has the contract. So the Olympics are in the same position as any customer that EVS wins i.e. BIRD cannot announce it because it's not their customer.

Doubt it. The Olympics is a money making racket and they ruthlessly guard their brand and trademarks.
