I think it is high on the list and I suspect the architecture is in place in the design already but perhaps can’t launch until other things are in place including payment gateways would be my take.

I think they want to get everything design and technically perfect for the long term rather than take shortcuts for quick solutions that will bite them later with restrictions and backward compatibility issues which I’m sure Sumit will have either witnessed or heard about that other companies have experienced.

Thanks NickB. It makes a lot of sense. I can’t help feeling that extensibility through a universe of World beating plug-ins has to be high on the list as well. Even if it’s a small handful of the most useful tools to start with…

This episode is for you!

I would also say the product design is not a linear process of one feature then move to the next.

Collaboration is in the DNA of the design.

Important features that imho are needed and they are being worked on (probably simultaneously)

1. LUTS
2. Transitions
3. Titles/graphics generators

Collaboration in the modern workplace is increasingly becoming a necessity rather than an option. I personally think getting something like this out early is essential. I will be forwarding it to hierarchy to be used as an example in the organisation I work. Not specifically for video editing but the premise of collaboration and how, when used, can really allow movement at PACE.It will be out their and ready to be consumed and promoted as and when whilst continuing to build the brand of Elevate. Think this episode could be a game changer in showing the Power of Elevate.

Hi NickB. I have a slight concern that collaboration is being overly foregrounded. There will be many people for whom the concept is alien and it will take them a long time to come round to doing things this way. In the meantime, getting the basics right of adding the rest of the functionality into a fully specified editor, and then pushing the boat out with extensibility through, cloud native collaboration with third-party tools is, to my mind, the main event. Eventually the world will come round to collaboration but I fear this is not the main reason people would want to buy a license for a least the next year or two, if not longer. I might be wrong…

Should be particularly interesting for people to see the true power of real-time collaboration which has been somewhat lost for many years at pro level.

Creators have never experienced anything like this.
