Cabi Yes agree it does seem odd. |
No idea.
Just seems unusual, because if the seller wanted out, why aren’t they hitting that bid at 4.635 |
Cabi
Interesting, any thoughts on why? |
bonio You seem to be looking for negatives all the time, any reason? |
Buffalo Sabres didn't last long on the homepage. |
Salmon Yes, I can’t agree more
They hinted plenty of times about having to be stealth about all this in the numerous investor meeting presentations |
Well offered at 4.774
What’s unusual is that it’s also we’ll bid at 4.635
That’s a very tight spread for BIRD. |
It is a fact that so few investors seem able or willing to investigate the investment potential of Blackbird, which is by nature complex, and the subject matter is very technical. It is like trying to find the way through a very technically difficult maze. You could say that might have helped Blackbird if an important part of Blackbird's mission is to fly under the radar. It could be their mission to do this if there are plans in place which they can not openly talk about.
What feels like it's deliberately missing is any attempt at the type of publicity that IM is so adept at. Interviews with the usual channels and articles which could be heralding the breakthrough technology of elevate, as it is now, and as it will soon be.
Maybe they want to save surprising the media outlets and marketplace for when the subscription model is released and the real marketing effort begins. That shortens the runway between amazing readers/watchers and their signing up as subscribers.
We will find out soonish! |
My thoughts also. |
I hope Blackbird are happy with the details he is sharing .... I'm not sure I would be. |
..and not the deliberate flying under the radar? |
So the weak link in the elevate project turned out to be many investors mindset and fund managers lack of understanding |
Hyper As you say fantastic work by Ryan and team
Interesting read, looks like Ryan has been instrumental in the super smoothness of the editing experience which is crucial for the user to like working in the product. |
Begs the question is can they/ will they use the same concept (render in place on the web) for video effects? |
Cabi Excellent
The audio side is going to be very special, one clue was in the last video rns that many rubbished if you paid attention |
Frame.io's customers pre acquired probably 90% Adobe so they didn't really get any new business, very important for them to have the product though for the future. |
Cyber Yes basically |
There's another good (long!) article here with a lot of numbers and insight. Apparently $82m was invested in Frame.io in the various rounds, so an excellent return for investors in a not-yet-profitable company. |
Ah yes I see. It's referred to as being a video editor in some articles, but seems it's just storage/management, viewing, minor edits and collaborative approvals only? |
