could well do - looking back at the chart after flatlining for a while we usually shoot upwards and such a move may have just commenced :)

I'm confident re VPC longer term, and BQE partly for the reason you mention.
Had HAWK on my watch list for a while but no spare cash and don't intend selling any of my existing holdings currently.

Along with VPC... Bounty look at HAWK it starting to fly. Swapped there from SBE as was unhappy with the russian situation generally.

Still in here as MRSA is still much in the news and hospital clean ups are needed especially with the new rulings that you can choose where you go now thus making the more diseased hospitals sit up and pay attention if they have no one wanting operations.

odd that this has fallen back so much; can't see any reason except for poor market conditions generally

With Darling saying that more small co's must be given chances today I have climbed on board with a 10k buy - not showing on here at all !! 202.65p perhaps there is a share overhang?

I agree regarding the prospects for silver Fatfin and it does seem to be lagging gold. I now have a small long position looking for around $1 gain in the price short term.

ETF for silver is SLVR or PHAG both on the LSE:. With the Dow dropping this should be, like gold, a good move as people go for "Safe havens".

Silver has also been used for an antibacterial agent on a par with Hyrodgen Peroxide...

Good luck here I will keep watching.

Well done in holding the gold - I closed my long gold and silver SB's far too early!

Bounty,

I have gold in GBS where you buy 1/10 of an ounce per share and am up at the moment since the end of Sept. I was hoping to find a similar way one could trade silver. It is cheaper so should go up more?!

Fatfin - I trade EURGBP and gold (with small positions) on spread bets. Did ok recently with gold but my EURGBP long is not working out (yet). I'm hoping for a 'surprise' rate cut on Thursday!

Bounty,

Sorry to be off topic

How do you go long on the euro is there a fund or do you just buy the market?

Also there are gold funds like GBS is there a similar one for silver poss. on an ETF?

This has now dropped back today but what is the normal market size there was non marked yesterday. If it is only 1000 shares it can be a pain when trying to sell.

Fidra,

Link into moneyweek I assume.

www.moneyweek.com and it is in the roundtable discussion. I do not know if there is a direct link without paying or subscribing. It is a good mag and I have had good stuff over the years.

fortunately I still have both oilexco and vpc Fatfin, and feeling very confident for the prospects for both of those in 2008 :)
...also this is looking good and I've got great hopes fot gmg although only a very recent modest investment there, but dyor of course!
....also just gone long Mar08 EURGPB - I'm expecting the pound to weaken against the EURO with the likehood of interest rate cuts in the UK over the next few months and maybe even 25bps later this week (just like the USD has done against the EURO recently).
