jmf69: Biome Technologies #BIOM @BiomePlastics is interesting, especially its Bioplastics division which is gaining good momentum with important new contracts signed, particularly with US-based customers, there is a growing interest globally in the substitution of conventional plastics. http://t.co/hK4ze5NOMD

Some 15 million tree shelters are already used in the UK each year and we are delighted to help Suregreen re-invent a product for this sector."

vaneric1: Long term pi's wouldn't have bought in even if they'd been given the opportunity, they've learned by now that the share price only goes one way and it ain't up.

thordon: The problem is the shares will be sold to the likes of Milton and then slowly dump the shares , as long as share price stays above 120p then they have made a profit

michaelmouse: FYI - It's impossible to flip the shares for a 20%-30% return. The shares are far too illiquid. Even very small trades can move the share price up or down by 20%-30%. I'm always keen for Directors to put in more money, but it should be noted that they did put a similar amount of their money into the last fund raise at £3 and have taken voluntary pay reductions this year. I notice a guy called Myles McNulty (a very successful PI I believe?) took 4.5% of the equity in this raise. The important point is what the equity is being used for. The interims and outlook clearly show that they're reaching a tipping point for their Bioplastics specifically in the USA. Revenue growth was 71% last year (against the Covid-19 backdrop). There are many USA projects in the pipeline with existing and new customers including small, medium and multi-national companies. It's a great growth opportunity that they couldn't exploit without this funding, and now it's done they can concentrate on growing the business throughout 20202/2021. What other micro-caps are achieving 71% growth in the current environment? With Brexit also on the near horizon, the fact that their customer base is largely USA based is great news. hTTps://michae1mouse.blogspot.com/2020/09/5-micro-caps-update.html

pugugly: Message received from very limited placing and massive discount together with (imo) minimal subscription by directors etc: is that those not associated with the company were not impressed by the roadshow and would only participate as a massive discount - Possibly (imo) and just guessing for a quick 20%-30% turn - "Certain of the Directors and Persons Discharging Managerial Responsibilities have participated in the Fundraise, pursuant to the Placing. John Standen, Non-Executive Chairman, and his wife Kathleen Standen have subscribed for 12,500 New Ordinary Shares in aggregate, which represents an amount of GBP15,000 at the Issue Price. Paul Mines, Chief Executive Officer, has subscribed for 12,500 New Ordinary Shares, which represents an amount of GBP15,000 at the Issue Price. Sally Morley, the Managing Director of Biome Bioplastics, has subscribed for 4,167 New Ordinary Shares, which represents an amount of GBP5,000.40 at the Issue Price" So just £35K - What a vote of confidence!! or am I being too much of a cynic?

marmar80: The board should be always giving an option to average down to existing shareholders and let them take say 20% of the new issue at the same conditions as the placing price. Now the newcomers will enter at GBP1.50 or less while long term holders will have no benefits from holding it for another year and waiting for a miracle to happen. Last year placing was at GBP3.00, which was the same level as the share price that time. Share was illiquid as today, only mad as us were buying it. This year placing is heavily discounted at GBP1.20. This is a huge nonsense to me as they allow for a lot more shares to flood it. Biome is still highly illiquid and it will take ages to offload all those shares. I woyld understand placing at GBP2.40, but not at 50% discount. Mines and the others must go, they are not good enough.

michaelmouse: Bioplastics is doing very nicely and the placing is to support growth albeit at a discounted price. Glad it's now out the way. The interim results are very encouraging for Bioplastics and in longer term the RF division will regain momentum. It's all about the Bioplastics division and the momentum in North America:- "The Bioplastics division performed exceptionally well in the first half despite the upheaval caused by Covid-19, with a 71% increase in revenues compared with the same period in the prior year." "Revenue in the second quarter was £1.2m and represented a new record for the division, despite the disruption caused by the pandemic." "Packaging film - the Company is working on seven new customer projects that focus on the conversion of flexible packaging to compostable formats. Six of these projects are for the North American market" hTTps://www.londonstockexchange.com/news-article/BIOM/interim-results/14696687 hTTps://www.londonstockexchange.com/news-article/BIOM/proposed-fundraise-of-ps1-1-million-notice-of-gm/14696820

claton1: Hahahah.....like it.Some of us will never see break even, for me it is £31.09p.But I do feel as though BIOM share price is on a gradual rise and if (big if) they can take advantage of the current narrative around plastic and the environment you never know it could end up significantly higher given the relatively low mkt cap and tiny amount of shares in issue.
