slicethepie: I don't normally like seeing the share price of one of my holdings fall but i suspect most pi here are disgusted by the way we were treated in the mates placing. I will buy more as it weakens and whoop with delight if it gets anywhere near the mates placing price.
michaelmouse: hTTps:// Growth story remains in tact with results in-line with expectations. 65% uplift in Bioplastics revenues. £1.7m of cash. Most importantly for Bioplastics division, "the Board expects significant revenue growth from this division in 2021, with further product implementations in progress with both existing and new customers. The projects that underpin the division's expected growth in 2021 are proceeding well. The Board remains confident of meeting market expectations in 2021." Prospects for the RF division looking slightly better longer term as well.
slicethepie: The new fd has history he did similar at his previous job fd to ce. That is a bigger company so he is arguably well qualified for the role. I also wonder if the two biggest shareholders are getting a little impatient, I did note they accepted some dilution at the recent raise which was surprising given how low the price was.
michaelmouse: Yes they biodegrade in place if not collected. It really is worth researching this company in detail. Given the current focus on all things environmental, Biome are in a sweet spot for their Biodegradable solutions:- "These shelters will be designed to provide protection to growing trees, not hinder growth as trees reach maturity and biodegrade if not collected." Yesterday's announcement was more significant than meets the eye, and it's worth a look at this video which includes info about the next stage field trials (20,000 shelters) and the desire from their client, Suregreen, to leave a lasting environmental legacy. hTTps:// Tree shelters alone would be a huge market for Biome, but it shouldn't distract from the accelerating penetration of their products into the USA.
amt: Great work by Biom team, well done in producing such great products to help save the world.
slicethepie: Share price would be much higher if they treated their shareholders with respect, the fund raising they did was disgusting and excluded those investors who had supported the company over many dismal years.
jmf69: Biome Technologies #BIOM @BiomePlastics is interesting, especially its Bioplastics division which is gaining good momentum with important new contracts signed, particularly with US-based customers, there is a growing interest globally in the substitution of conventional plastics.
thordon: The problem is the shares will be sold to the likes of Milton and then slowly dump the shares , as long as share price stays above 120p then they have made a profit
marmar80: The board should be always giving an option to average down to existing shareholders and let them take say 20% of the new issue at the same conditions as the placing price. Now the newcomers will enter at GBP1.50 or less while long term holders will have no benefits from holding it for another year and waiting for a miracle to happen. Last year placing was at GBP3.00, which was the same level as the share price that time. Share was illiquid as today, only mad as us were buying it. This year placing is heavily discounted at GBP1.20. This is a huge nonsense to me as they allow for a lot more shares to flood it. Biome is still highly illiquid and it will take ages to offload all those shares. I woyld understand placing at GBP2.40, but not at 50% discount. Mines and the others must go, they are not good enough.
claton1: it.Some of us will never see break even, for me it is £31.09p.But I do feel as though BIOM share price is on a gradual rise and if (big if) they can take advantage of the current narrative around plastic and the environment you never know it could end up significantly higher given the relatively low mkt cap and tiny amount of shares in issue.
