"These shelters will be designed to provide protection to growing trees, not hinder growth as trees reach maturity and biodegrade if not collected."
Yesterday's announcement was more significant than meets the eye, and it's worth a look at this video which includes info about the next stage field trials (20,000 shelters) and the desire from their client, Suregreen, to leave a lasting environmental legacy.

Tree shelters alone would be a huge market for Biome, but it shouldn't distract from the accelerating penetration of their products into the USA.

"This project is an exciting step towards supporting tree planting in a sustainable manner. Some 15 million tree shelters are already used in the UK each year and we are delighted to help Suregreen re-invent a product for this sector."

24/9/2020 07:05 | michaelmouse: Bioplastics is doing very nicely and the placing is to support growth albeit at a discounted price. Glad it's now out the way. The interim results are very encouraging for Bioplastics and in longer term the RF division will regain momentum. It's all about the Bioplastics division and the momentum in North America:-
"The Bioplastics division performed exceptionally well in the first half despite the upheaval caused by Covid-19, with a 71% increase in revenues compared with the same period in the prior year."
"Revenue in the second quarter was £1.2m and represented a new record for the division, despite the disruption caused by the pandemic."
"Packaging film - the Company is working on seven new customer projects that focus on the conversion of flexible packaging to compostable formats. Six of these projects are for the North American market"

19/8/2020 06:43 | michaelmouse: Largest single order at $550,000 to be delivered in the next 2 months against a measly market cap. of £5m.
Client is USA based and in fact (from recent trading statement), "(Biom) are working with an expanding list of potential new customers in the USA and developmental work in that context continues with some vigour. The business is well positioned to exploit further opportunities in this growing market."
Revenues in Bioplastics were up 53% at the interim stage.

01/5/2020 09:09 | vaneric1: I took what remained of my money out and put it into Tesco when they had their financial scandal and their share price collapsed, it was my best investment decision,
I've more than trebled my money since then by popping in and out as the share gradually came good.
Looking forward now to the special dividend reported if the sale of their Thailand and Malaysia group is sold off.
Biome remains a bad taste in my mouth.
