Just been reading the statement re the share placing again
hadn't noticed it was done by broker Stanford capital,i take
my hat off to them very rare to see 32% of a company's shares
placed wouldn't have been easy.I know the guys behind Stanford
very capable team.

They don't come much better than Ruffer So basically 3 decent sized institutions have bought decent amounts here

Ruffer LLP have notified a holding of 8%/3.5m (I make that 8.7% but I don't run a fund). Less than 10% to be accounted for.

From recollection, I don't think Simon Thompson tipped Conviviality just before it went bust, I think it was one of the IC staff writers.

Also the RNS to me clearly states that their holding prior was the same as after - I've no idea why they RNSd it but it doesn't say zero prior from my reading

So ST tipped Convivality the day before it crashed and then went bust (I believe they tried to remove the tip the following day but it was already out), and he tipped MPAC just before it crashed too - these are real disaster tips this year. There are more - not saying he doesn't get some "right" but as I say he delivers some real stinkers - and I'd much rather a share go up without some mag ramp. If he was such an ace analyst he'd be on a beach sipping his pina colada surrounded by all his riches and not writing daily columns for a magazine

I was it as 0 pct to 8pct Why else RNS it ?Also ST has already tipped this And he is v good So i disagree with you on all fronts

I read that RNS as 8% to 8%. Just let it find its way back and please don't wish Simon Thompson on this share as that would for me suggest it's time to sell as all this tends to attract is the hot money looking for quick gains, and said money tends to exit just as quickly. Plus ST has tipped some real stinkers in recent months

OK it was a straight sale to Institutions - don't think I've come across a retirement sale of this % magnitude before.

One thing for sure - the II's got a bargain. Can't help but think Mr C got sh*fted.

Get the feeling this is a positive move even if just for increased liquidity.

Yes , selling is now over so that's positive for a bounce , just a shame we didn't get a chance to buy the 100p shares that were on offer. Not unreasonable to retire after 40yrs I guess.

This all bodes well for the future. Ellingham is a smooth operator and I suspect he will have more acquisition targets and maybe even a reversal.

I would expect a "Holdings" RNS tomorrow.

It is as you say "All a bit odd.....". All I could think of was a trf between him and his son - but why 100p - normally this would be a gift. Can't believe this is a straight sale to an II.

I guess tomorrow will reveal all.
