24/7/2006 16:34 | It has done pretty well - should fall back a bit before another move forward. Tipped again this weekend in TMI, along with ROK. I've also got KIE - property should do well for a while still with low interest rates staying put for the moment, imo, dyor. | johnrxx99
24/7/2006 16:13 | shame it's not following the market up today tho. | honest ern
24/7/2006 11:36 | One of the strongest in the market. Current doldrums have had no effect. | johnrxx99
24/7/2006 11:04 | thanks john, nice to have a chart for this one. Any TA's care to give an oppinion. As a novice the chart looks pretty good. Ern | honest ern

23/7/2006 14:55 | Oh, I forgot to mention recent director buys but will add their holdings above. Please correct me if I'm wrong. | johnrxx99
23/7/2006 14:52 | A new thread with charts and stuff which I hope will be useful. | johnrxx99
23/7/2006 14:51 | The latest trading statement revealed further excellent progress with turnover for the quarter ending 30 July up 21% to £11.6m over the same period last year, while annualised revenue is up 20% to £47.6m. Big Yellow now has 40 stores open with a total self storage capacity of 2.39m sq. ft. Within this, its occupied space has increased 13% to 1.74m sq. ft. implying overall occupancy of 75% and there has been no adverse impact on utilisation from the 4.5% price increase put through in May. During the quarter, Big Yellow acquired a fifth site in Poole, which will provide 53,000 sq. ft. when developed and it now has an overall pipeline of 19 development sites, which when completed will take the group's capacity to 3.66m sq. ft. Big Yellow has also placed 9.1m new shares at 400p raising £36.4m which will finance both its expansion and the one-off charge (c. £9.5m) of converting to REIT status. Under the new REIT rules, the company must distribute at least 90% of its earnings to shareholders, which would mean the annual payout rising from 5p to over 7p. I hope we can add to this section of the tread as we go along. As at 31 March directors substantial shareholdings were:- Nick Vetch 11,425,000 Philip Burks 10,396,000 David Ross 7,000,000 James Gibson 2,613,000 Adrian Lee 818,880 | johnrxx99
23/7/2006 14:26 | Does anyone mind if I start a new thread with charts and stuff? | johnrxx99
19/7/2006 16:32 | big jump in the last 90minutes of trading. Maybe an announcement comming? | honest ern
12/7/2006 11:07 | hi folks just ought in today. Solid fundamentals and a great looking chart. Can't fail with this one i reckon. Ern | honest ern
20/6/2006 07:29 | the_doctor, I would have thought that a 33% premium to NAV was a lot but I suppose this is not an investment trust . BYG has one of the best uptrending charts I have seen but no doubt a wide spread for this stock. Let's see when market opens ! | arja
14/6/2006 23:26 | Buffeted by the general market volatility, but seems to be holding its own - investor faith in property much stronger than other sectors? | woodrowman
03/6/2006 09:07 | Good to see that 'buy' upgrade - and a 25% hike on current share price would be very welcome. Anyone know anything about the REIT prospects for BYG? | woodrowman
02/6/2006 14:21 | 16th May - upgraded to Buy by Evolution. Target price 500p Basis: Only a 33% premium to NAV at present. Feels that further revaluations may come, thereby reducing that small premium further. Strong demand should drive further earnings increase | the_doctor
23/5/2006 19:32 | Dont know, but I wish I had got some more ! Back up today. | spark240
22/5/2006 17:40 | Anyone any idea why we're down so much today? | tuning peg
18/5/2006 08:43 | True, never be afraid to take a profit but BYG is one of the few nuggets out there in the market based on recent company results reporting. I think this is due an upgrade - Evolution have recently revised their outlook with a Buy. | tuning peg
18/5/2006 08:27 | I know that I will regret it but I needed to bank some profits because of the general state of the rest of the market (its not necessarily logical but it does make you feel better) so I have sold BYG.I have done this before with BYG and I expect to buy again in the autumn probably at a higher price but never mind.Good luck to holders. | willower
16/5/2006 21:24 | Yes saw it. Was particularly impressed by Adrian Lee who was very assured and credible. The one hesitation was when he was asked about future competitor activity and whether he was afraid of a US entrant into the nascent UK market, which I don't think he handled as well as other questions. However it does open up the question about whether BYG will become a target for a US or even Australian player given that it is the market leader at present. My buying of this company has been largely triggered by significant director buying. I'll be looking out for this over the coming weeks and taking that as a sign to top up. Aside from that will be looking at the covering brokers (M Lynch and Evolution) forecasts in the coming days - I would expect strong buys from both. | tuning peg
16/5/2006 13:57 | BYG has just had its own very positive feature on BBC's Working Lunch - it was very impressive confirming strong but controlled expansion. | willower
16/5/2006 07:53 | I agree that the results are excellent and I hope that you are right but I wonder whether the usual dip on results will take place because the shares have had a good run | willower
16/5/2006 07:34 | Awesome results and encouraging that trading post results period is also good. share price should fly today after retracing these last couple of days. | tuning peg
02/5/2006 14:02 | Up another 3% so far today. The Q4 / Final results are due out on May 16th. The only rumour I've picked up so far is that the results are going to be really good however with this momentum of price rise may be there is something more going on ... ? | tuning peg |
