11/10/2004 10:16 | Excellent breakout on BYG over the past 2 trading days - should see good strength from here. Anyone know if you can spread bet this share? | adorling
12/8/2004 11:40 | Anybody know anything to cause this large drop today on almost no volume? | slinky lady
13/7/2004 09:08 | its really hard to work out this market. Out comes a ststement saying that things are fantastic that their sites are reaching maturity(oK yes will be slightly quiet for the next fewmonths) and 10 new stores beginning to grind up and they are marked down | hybrasil
25/5/2004 16:41 | good volume today | hybrasil

19/4/2004 15:57 | From www.frequenttrader.i It's been a fairly quiet day but I've just made a couple of trades just before updating the site! I was watching Big Yellow Group (BYG) and some big buying that's been coming in today and Friday. If you remember I made a right few quid on these a few weeks ago buying around 104p and selling around 132p - it looks like now is the time to get back in. It is significant to me these big buyers are wading in with results just around the corner on May 5th. So I've just bought 4,320 shares at 138p. Target 155p Stop 125p. Storage is big and getting bigger as more people rent. There are also some bid possibilities here. The company have been advertising on the radio too and judging by the buying the results are going to be rather good. | slinky lady
07/4/2004 16:46 | Someone broke the bank to buy 12 shares just before the close! a whole £15.00. Up up and away. lol | issuseless
27/3/2004 20:35 | Good article in the Times today on Self-storage market. Focussed on Shurgard, US rival, but strong confirmation of continued growth in this sector. Interesting insight on customer trends. | jhan66
22/1/2004 21:01 | I work on the big yellow stores during the build, they are simply self storage units of all sizes for as long as you like for a price !.Its not that cheap but nevertheless they are very popular. We are currently looking at a few more going up this year, some outside of the london area which is where 90% of the units are at present.Ive held shares with them for a few years,in fact i bought at just under the current price some i am confident of a steady rise from now on.Tell me where you are and i can let you know if there is one near you. | spark240
21/1/2004 20:19 | Don't wait buy!!! | jade11
06/1/2004 19:19 | I haven't but in the six months to September, sales jumped 55 pct to 10.957 mln stg from 7.098 mln the year before. Pretax profit was 143,000 stg, against a loss of 976,000 previously. So plenty of others are. Not sure why the 10% rise in one day but things must be looking up. | deeldee
21/12/2003 09:49 | Has anyone actually been to or used one of these stores? If so, what for? Was it worth it? Just doing a bit of research | tony979
16/12/2003 21:37 | Dominic connolly from citywire comments on the recent share purchases. I don't comment on many directors' dealings but at the weekend I caught up on a backlog of research and noticed that David Ross of Big Yellow Group (BYG) bought 792,886 shares at 100p to take his holding to 1.8 million a week ago. A couple of days later he stepped in again and bought 100,000 from fellow director Adrian Lee when he exercised and sold 100,000, cutting out the middle man and saving him the market spread. If that's not a vote of confidence in the company I don't know what is! | deeldee
05/12/2003 10:11 | In today's times. Drifting a bit today following yesterday's 10% rise but will gather momentum over the next few weeks. Director's dealings BIG YELLOW GROUP, the self-storage specialist, rose 8½p at 111p as David Ross, the non-executive director better known as deputy chairman of Carphone Warehouse, bought stock for £793,000. He purchased 792,886 shares at 100p, and now owns 1.83 million. Big Yellow is due to file its third-quarter trading update in the second week of January. | deeldee
25/10/2003 20:01 | this company continues to tradeway above NAV. The safestore takeout show that all it is worth is the value of its assets which are is considerably less than todays share price. Look at the company try to prop up the price with share buy backs | hybrasil
14/5/2003 07:53 | What do you reckon has pushed this up ?? | spark240
07/4/2003 18:16 | While it looks like I am talking to myself I think I have worked out what they are at. The share buy back is to give the directors effective control wihtout launcing a full bid. They were not prepared to wait | hybrasil
11/2/2003 20:25 | I cant believe it. They are at it again. Why are they buying back shares above NAV. In this market it defies logic. I would guess but I have not done my homework that most of their cash is now used up. How silly. | hybrasil
04/2/2003 18:11 | They are at it again. Look at the sheer stupidity of buying back shares at a price above NAV.All they had to do was wait. | hybrasil
29/1/2003 17:44 | Down again.Getting closer to that 55p level. What will I do then | hybrasil
28/1/2003 08:20 | In May of 02 I asked if anyone could demonstrate how these shares were value at anything above 55p. I am beginning to wonder was I being overoptimistic at that level. Despite dircector buying the shares are falling. Where will it stop? | hybrasil
07/1/2003 09:02 | I follow the share and hold a few i also work on most of the new big yellow projects so i probably have a biased view but they seem to be doing ok ? | spark240
07/1/2003 07:38 | I thoroughly enjoy talking to myself. Does noone else follw these shares. Thjey are the biggest player in the self storage market which in 5 years will be avery much more mature place than it is now. Has any one read this mornings trading statement? If so can I have their thoughts.? | hybrasil
17/12/2002 17:50 | The answer to my question posed on 3rd dec is that they were about to grant themselves options to purchase at 81.5p | hybrasil
03/12/2002 21:27 | It seems the directors are at last reading this thread. You will see that they have sold shares at .83p. Why? It can be only be because they no longer see the hoped for take out. | hybrasil |
