It gives me a warm feeling.
Interesting that the FDs latest share purchase seems to have co-incided with the bottom of the recent price nadir.

Yep I think long term BIFF has potential and you'll do OK. But i think your nerves and patience will be sorely tested along the way.

I do hold by the way. I've been in and out of the stock a few times. But my current buy is nursing a 10% loss. I probably won't sell, but I wont increase either, yet.

blue - i agree that BIFF is not a perfect pick, what with the P/E and being at the bottom of a long down-trend.

However there are good signs too, including director dealings and the yield is not too bad at 3.73%.

A decent rest of week and good start to monday may just signal the turn.

May be worth a punt i think.

There is still too much uncertainty in the markets which is likely to persist for some time yet. I saw one prediction from a respected TA and he believes the turning point for the ftse will be around 5500. Normally, during periods of uncertainty, there is a flight to quality (high yielding shares) and BIFF sure does not fall into that category yet. So more volatility ahead me thinks. BIFF could go sub £2 during all this.

MACD has crossed over, although it did the same early July and it went nowhere. Have to say, charts do look good but calling the bottom is easier said than done eh?

I see the BIFF stock on loan has dropped from c 7% to 6.4%, so shorting positions are being closed. Lets see were it goes from here

shorter can only have a limited effect on the SP, if we see a sharp correction upwards with the Dow (I am sure there will be this week) then this will be moved upwards regardless. They will be scrambling to close out.

Either way I am happy to have an average of £2.19 and intend to hold for a year or two taking the divi as we go. ;0)
