15/8/2007 17:18 | I'm still here - not much to discuss, at the moment. I haven't sold one share but, I have had a play with spread betting long and short. I have given that up, with BIFF, now though. I don't see the point in selling out, when shares have gone down in value. Especially when there is so much possibility of upside, when the markets calm down. | ![]() johne1
15/8/2007 16:41 | This is a quiet thread...has everyone moved on or simply given up? | markinthepark
14/8/2007 15:17 | i think we would have the double bottom late last week but when the sh*t hit the fan concerning the markets all chart patterns went out the window! | awe430save132
14/8/2007 14:46 | We need a double bottom on the chart and I dont see it yet! | ![]() ygor705
13/8/2007 21:49 | It looks more like the north face of the Eiger now, theband. However, I think I will still refer to it as Bart. | ![]() johne1
13/8/2007 18:28 | That 5% rise did nothing to the chart, Barts still got very long hair, in fact he doesn't much resemble Bart anymore. | ![]() theband
13/8/2007 15:31 | Changed my mind bought a few. Also VPC looks cheap again I'm tempted.. oil and rubbish what a great connection. | ![]() mitzis
13/8/2007 14:05 | Sorry theband lol.. Nothing Biffa related Volvo its just that I dont trust the markets at the moment. | ![]() mitzis
13/8/2007 12:12 | mit I think it will reach 2.50p.Even the most pessimistic institution has this valued at 3.26p.Yes its last statement included a few negatives but it is still a every day need. Will be bought out at these levels with or without the credit problems. | ![]() volvo
13/8/2007 12:05 | mitzis....stop saying things like that and 'dead man's bounce' brings on my angina :o) | ![]() theband
13/8/2007 10:29 | Would not depend on it reaching 250p V. | ![]() mitzis
13/8/2007 08:57 | Looks good up until now.Nice and steady. They are the best in these rebound markets and likely to hold the gains.First target is 2.50p for now. | ![]() volvo
12/8/2007 17:34 | I hope your right warranty, can't help remembering how far the ftse fell in the dotcom period. Theres definately money to be made, even if we have to short a few dogs, but you need a different mindset to prosper at that. When I first got in Biffa last November I got out cos it seemed too boring, then watched it steadily climb to 360ish. I was tempted to get back in even then as it looked a certain takeover target in a market thats crying out for consolidation ( they're all undercutting each other for council contracts )so when it fell to 290 couldn't believe my luck. As you say, if it wasn't for current negative sentiment towards Biff you would expect it to be on peoples list of safe stocks. One thing not to overlook is the chairman, ceo and finance director have all been adding quite substantially as the share price has fallen, and they ought to know if biff is fundamentally sound or not. | ![]() theband
11/8/2007 19:41 | theband, stay with it as this is a fundamentally safe share. I can't really believe how much its fallen myself but as soon as I have some more dosh I'm piling into this one for a significant rise back over the next six months or so. Of course everything depends on market sentiment and particularly the banks position re poor lending practises but hopefully that will prove to be overdone and the market will quickly recover. If this does prove to be the case there are some exceptional buys at present and BIFF is definately one of the best amongst them imho. | ![]() warranty
11/8/2007 06:44 | Hello Volvo - I am sure I have read your posts on other threads - good luck, anyway. I think folk have been bottom fishing, for a while, here. Like catching a falling knife. I think shorters have had a ball but, I'm not sure about the bottom. Can anyone tell where there is support? Regarding fundamentals - we need some news flow. Just my opinion. | ![]() johne1
10/8/2007 22:26 | I stuck all my equity in at 257. I really wish I had some more, the only thing I can muster is margin trades, ie 6 month spread bet long, its the only thing left at my disposal. Problem is, is this a 6 month turnaround? A takeover is now possibly not looking likely short term, thinking maybe 12-24mths. | ![]() ideal420
10/8/2007 22:05 | John just a trader picked up 30k at 2.20.The company is good in a defensive market.Bought them all today,ultilities that is. | ![]() volvo
10/8/2007 19:31 | BIFFs defences haven't stopped me from losing a packet - lol Seriously though, I will try to hold onto my bunch, through it all - maybe till I die! Is volvo a regular here? - if not, welcome to our nightmare. What a load of rubbish :-) | ![]() johne1
10/8/2007 16:14 | spread getting wider, 224:227.5. MMs surely not short of stock | ![]() theband
10/8/2007 10:32 | Agree with you Volvo its a great defensive share providing an essential service cant see it falling below 200p . | ![]() mitzis
10/8/2007 10:28 | mit you may have missed that but the share is as defensive as it comes and at 220 ish it is well over sold on any rational. | ![]() volvo
10/8/2007 10:02 | Should Biff fall to 200p I'll stick the lot on. | ![]() mitzis
