up to 12 minutes of advertising per hour and will increase to 20 minutes in 2020.'

20 minutes in the hour!
That's terrible.

-------

I thought SKY was 15 minutes per hour? That's why the X Files only lasted for 45 minutes on BBC2.

I record virtually all my programs and then jump through the mind numbing ads when I watch them. I doubt I'm the only one doing that either, which must damage the TV ad industry.

Targeted ads are the way forward, IMO.

Lauders thanks for that article that headlines....

'Mobile games sparked 60% of 2019 global game revenue, study finds '

there is so much material out there.
I do hope that this is the company that cracks it!

Our methods surely more viable AND effective.
Native advertising is the modern way.
No wonder people aren't watching television!
It would comatose you if in Europe.

'British broadcasters are governed by tighter regulations than those in Europe, where commercial operators can screen up to 12 minutes of advertising per hour and will increase to 20 minutes in 2020.'

20 minutes in the hour!
That's terrible.

"[Experts] can’t predict the markets with any useful consistency, any more than the gizzard squeezers could tell the Roman emperors when the Huns would attack."

PWHITE is a gizzard squeezer.

'ad spend is rising but some clients are using technology to bypass agencies and “legacy” players are struggling to adapt. Publicis Groupe, Dentsu and M&C Saatchi all warned of poor trading before Christmas. The future for agencies is to be nimbler, more consultative and more strategic, which is creating room for new entrants.

Luke Smith, co-founder of Croud, a Shoreditch-based digital agency that has just sold a £30 million stake to private equity, says bullishly: “There are very few industries globally that have as much energy as the digital marketing space in London.”

JD needs to start the year off by regaining the credibility he lost towards the end of the years. .An update on what is going on at BIDS with a plan moving forward would be a good start. .Then under promise and over deliver. .Just hope there are no delays with these expected games otherwise market is going to have JDs guts for garters. .Would be nice to have a year of clear and transparent news flows

'Zenith, a media agency whose clients include RBS and Disney, has warned “available audiences” for advertisers are shrinking as consumers “replace television viewing with non-commercial video”. One marketer talks about “chasing the missing viewer”, who is now on Netflix, surfing the web or playing video games.'
