“Many technical, regulatory and commercial hurdles” and “prioritising technical investment” tells you all you need to know.

Phowdo,

They clearly do not have 6 months to raise cash, no prudent company would leave it until the last minute before trying to raise!

I would think they will be looking to raise in three months or so, possibly after releasing some news to try and drive the shareprice higher before doing it.

we might need to consider definitions of minor and material.

"continue to be minor" - currently circa 40k/month. Could they reach 500k/month before July without considering that material, perhaps not, but possible.

The one contract has the potential for 10m/year before any others, is that all in h2, no of course not, it has already started, so that 40k is probably on the low side now.

There is a window here which means they may not need a placing/fund raise at all, but it is marginal.

more speculation but reasoned and logical.

"The Board believes that Bidstack's medium and longer term interests require the Company to continue with its strategy of prioritising technical investment over seeking short term revenues."
"The Board expects that revenues in H1 2020 will continue to be minor and that material revenues for 2020 will occur only in the second half."

So 6 months away from material revenues. Monthly burn rate of £500k. They'll be running on fumes by July.

The positives? A few significant ones actually.

Confirmation that we have £3M in the bank put in writing. Fully funded until July 2020. Yes, money needed at some point but not as urgent as most of the derampers would like. Funds will be raised but the co will not want to be doing it at these levels.

And the following statement:

"The Company continues to work with some of the largest game publishers in the world to make more inventory available to advertisers and some of these games are currently at integration or beta testing phase."

Integration or beta testing.

Further clues:

"However, in order to maximise advertisers' access to targeted demographics the Company's focus is on games with higher user statistics rather than on sheer numbers of games. The Board will update the market on significant new games when it is able to do so."

i'm also liking the size of trades going through, plenty over 50k, even 100k a time listed as buys.

The share price wont be going anywhere until substantial revenues appear to prove the model...

...Because the only material thing in the statement is that the tech/structure/process IS NOT READY YET

Just read it

Well, there is not too much that can be said here. The naysayers are having a field day with this one, many taking deep pleasure in other people's losses.

My take on today's RNS is that this simply confirms what most of us had already calculated. The share price had already priced in these figures (and IMO overreacted already). For me, the revenue is slightly higher than I expected (don't laugh) and I had calculated a worst-case scenario of £600k monthly cash burn which would have given Bids 1 month less cash runway. £500k/month was impressively bang on.

One of the worst things about today's Trading Update is... the timing. With sentiment so insanely low today's reaction is fully expected. Obviously further delays have led to this but for goodness sake JD have a bit of foresight and release it at the start of Jan where the market wouldn't have over-reacted so badly and the share price wasn't already severely depressed. There is one thing that causes a flare-up of anger here for me. JD signing off his last LinkedIn post with "Timing is everything". Oh, the irony.

buy the shares when you can and don't worry. If you are not a short term trader the entry point really won't matter in a few months.

Edited..

even if revenues are expected to get going in h2, there are funds in the bank to keep going through H1 and any revenues coming in even slowly will allow that to stretch further.

If things go well they may be able to get an 'overdraft' agreement with the bank or they may need a small fund raise over between q2 and q3 to tide them . Either way there is nothing of concern and any fundraising should not be a real problem. The only caveat is if they need to raise a couple of million, at what price does that become too dilutive. Even if low at 5p that is 40m shares or about 15% or share capital, so really not a major impact. I would expect it to be more similar to last year, around 15p.

Well, I have just bought the rest of the shares I wanted, pity I didn't wait till today to buy them all! However, reasonably relaxed. I agree with a lot of the comments about Draper, extremely naive and immature from a business point of view, but with all of the massive wealth of experience within the company I imagine he is learning.

It is always best to under promise and over deliver, and from the tone of this mornings announcements he is either learning that, or has been forced to grow up!

I feel that hopefully we are at a turning point, for the good.

Surprise, surprise!
The statement format I posted would have been sooooooooooo embarasing.
This really is just a start up.

I should have sold them all yesterday, not just 40%.
At least that's limited the damage.

Makes me wonder what all the big shots on board are thinking/doing.
Makes me wonder how the competition are doing as well...

RoleyBirkin1 "PWhite - surely they have raised all the money they need? You have stated 'forward placing' for months.."

No because the volumes are too low and the losses for H1 2020 are going to equal the full year loss for 2019 given the expansion and increased staff numbers. Volume may pick up now given the new level.
