10/11/2020 07:18 | I'm surprised by no update by now. Last year it was on 5.11.19, the year before on 7.11.18. In light of the company doing very well and an ongoing FSP one would have thought that the announcement would have been made by now. I guess that possibly something might be in the works re the FSP. Animal spirits might have been pepped up a bit with the vaccine announcement yesterday making people generally more bullish. On the other hand 2017's announcement was made on 22.11.17, so perhaps this apparent delay means nothing. They are not producing accurate numbers here though, just giving a trading update, so what is holding it back. Common sense tells me that positive news re the FSP might be in the works.... | ![]() peart

09/11/2020 08:36 | I wouldn't be surprised to see a circa 30p per share special dividend paid in February, if the FSP fails to advance to a sale of the company. | ![]() peart
08/11/2020 14:54 | They will have the unaudited H1 figures now, the accounts are quite simple. It's probably best to imagine you're in their shoes. Cash flow is rising rapidly and with no need for working capital at any significant level and they can pay themselves large tax efficient dividends. Last year operating profit was £4.2m. This year it might make £10m. As you own a controlling number of shares you don't have to worry about an institution selling out for a quick profit at a lower price than you might wish. We know that there is more than one potential buyer. Over the last 5 years they've grown the operating profit by a compound 40%/annum. This years H1 figures will exceed that by a wide margin. Revenue last year was around £18m, they could hit £28m this year in total. Now everything has a price but why sell when you can see significant annual returns. We're still only a sub £20m revenue company last year so plenty of scope for growth to continue. In their shoes I'd be happy to keep going banking the dividends. I would only be interested in a very large premium. Taking my number as a proxy for revenue in the second half of last year they were running at 7 which gave an average for year end of 4.08 up from 1.97 the previous year. They started the first half moving a bit either side of 7. The bidders arrived and they pushed it up to 11.2 one month. Then dropped it back to 7 in the last month of H1. We're only 1 week into H2 but it's back at 8 again. It seems they gone back to nearer the set growth rate. Now there are assumptions this time which will alter my figures - upside mid week games, downside increased marketing spend so projections are difficult to place accurately. The market has been valuing them at 23* OCF so we could be looking at £24/25 by year end and £37 next year if they continue to grow at the 7 growth rate. So how much would you want to part with the company ? We will never know the boards personal plans which would affect their selling price. Running a rapidly growing company and paying yourself a good dividend seems like fun to me. What would you/they do with the money and the rest of your life ? So why the delay. Personally I'd lay down a high price. As the interested parties haven't walked away (that would need an RNS) they're still in the game. If it was only one company I think we would have had a yes/no by now but we have multiple interested parties. Perhaps BOTB didn't set a price, just said not enough. When one offer comes in they say no and say over to companies 2 and 3 etc to beat it. This would take more time as each company would take time to consider an improved offer. Bit of a ramble just throwing out my thoughts. For me a big bid would be nice but so would continuing good growth and special dividends so I'm happy either way. Don't forget my price figures are just my thoughts alone and as they're in the future things can change either way. | ![]() serratia

08/11/2020 11:49 | What are your views on the FSP process that has dragged on for 5 months?Surely the potential suitors have had access to the 6 month trading figures. They have probably now been given an end date to put up or shut up. | ![]() investographer
08/11/2020 10:57 | BOTB has a M.Cap of £145m. If it was that easy to replicate why are bidders still in the game ? Also why not buy any of the above list ? Perhaps it isn't so easy. | ![]() serratia

04/11/2020 21:13 | Seriously? You are picking some comments off a YouTube video as evidence, along with a smug ‘Computer says no’? Grow up! You seriously expect everyone to agree? FFS, clueless. If it’s so easy to replicate, why is every copycat rubbish? If it’s an easy money printer, write a short business case and take it to Ladbrokes / Bet365 / whoever. Report back with how you get on. Two cars? BOTB regularly does that. You are entitled to your opinion. Even if it’s wrong... | jlstocks

04/11/2020 19:01 | You say the perceived poor judging has been addressed in recent weeks JL stocks Computer says no. Here are some comments from this video only this week. 1. That was so wrong, I will not buy a ticket again. 2. Pls Don't buy any tickets The odds of winning must have gone through the floor with the big ramp in customer activity for BOTB this year. How long until players cotton on and competitors start to steal BOTB thunder? I emplore you. Tell me the barriers to entry. What stops a gambling company creating their own competition overnight, and having two cars as two top prizes in every competition to attractive punters. | ![]() solooiler
04/11/2020 17:17 | I play regularly - and I believe you are over-thinking any 'unfairness'. There are still plenty of instances, especially in the midweek game, that the winner doesn't get the exact coordinate of the judges. If you only play one ticket (and hence, potentially have a chance to go into a replay IF there is a tie break), bear in mind that your chances of actually getting to that point are significantly reduced. Most players play multiple tickets The rules have not changed (other than I believe the payout to £1000 increasing from £500) The quantity discount applies to a game, not an order. So, if I play 2 tickets and then later in the week decide I want to play another 3 (bringing total to 5), I then get the discount applied, even though that second order was only for 3. In summary, I believe that the prizes in the game (value), the ticket prices (low), the brand (established) and the track record (audited, public, every winner visible) along with the interaction of the game (I find it interesting to play, there are incentives (free tickets) if you spend a certain amount over a month, you get credit back as a percentage of your tickets (can be 100%), depending on how close you get etc - it all makes it a seemingly simple concept, but it has been implemented incredibly well... and ultimately benefits from the 20 years of leg work put in. The number of winners who mention, "I've been playing since it was in the airport" is huge. It's a cracking business that has loyalty and repeat custom which has been implemented and operates exceptionally well. Even perceived 'poor judging' has been addressed in recent weeks. Overall, I'm a big fan - though I do expect that my biggest returns will come from holding the stock, rather than winning a car :-) | jlstocks
