04/11/2020 10:52 | How come the original Littlewoods never made the successful transition to online, and allowed BOTB to steal their UPS? The old Spot the Ball used to have a few million players (I remember the rubber stamps you could buy to put crosses on close together), but now they're down to just a few thousand players. | 3ootuk
04/11/2020 09:12 | Solooiler - If players begin to recognize there is unfairness in determining the winner, they will be less likely to continue playing. That is a real risk to BOTB in my opinion. On that other point - about an individual entry at least recieving cash compensation if on target, while those making multiple entries having to go to a replay if on same target, does that mean that a player who wishes to have multiple goes is better off NOT doing so on a single order (despite the quantity discount) but doing so in separate individual orders? | grabster

03/11/2020 20:38 | That’s why when I enter multiple tickets, they are ALWAYS in pairs... if I ever get the correct pixel, that way I have guaranteed always having another X immediately next to it :-) | jlstocks
03/11/2020 16:50 | Wtf so you are better off entering one ticket and getting it spot on than entering 3 spread out because the second ticket might be miles away and that might lose you the game | solooiler
03/11/2020 16:48 | thats a bit stupid. that means if 1 million people play you can get the answer spot on and still lose and instead of 200k car you get £1000. bit stupid. odds of getting the pixel right first time must be low as hell and even then you don't win. | solooiler
03/11/2020 15:31 | Thanks for clearing that up! | investographer
03/11/2020 14:32 | Just found the actual rule - pretty close to what I thought: What happens if more than one person is equidistant to the judges position in the Dream Car or Midweek Car Competition? In each of the Dream Car and Midweek Competitions there can only be one winner. If a case arises in the Dream Car Competition where two or more players are equally close to the judges position, the winner will be determined by calculating the next closest entry of the players in question. The person with the closest second ticket is then the outright winner. If any player in this 'equidistant' scenario has only one ticket, all players that qualify will participate in another Spot the Ball competition online to determine the outright winner. All 'equidistant' players who do not win outright, will receive £1,000 in cash. | jlstocks
03/11/2020 14:29 | No, a pixel isn't out of the game - multiple people can pick the same! If that happens a) If both (or all) have entered multiple tickets, then the next closest is the tie breaker. b) If one of the potential winners has only one ticket, then all of those who got the 'actual' pixel, then do another spot-the-ball to determine the winner. If you get the winning pixel, but don't ultimately win because of the above, I believe you get £500. | jlstocks
03/11/2020 11:51 | That sounds crazy as anyone entering right at the close of each competition will be left with pixels into the corners where nobody expects success. How many pixels are there? | davidosh
03/11/2020 11:28 | I believe that once a pixel has been selected, it is out of the game. The next entrant gets the pixel nearest to their XThat is why there is never a draw, or more than one winner | investographer
03/11/2020 11:24 | Quick question but I should know this.....If there are tens orf thousand of entries for the supercar and 40 all select the same pixel selected by the judges.....who then decides who gets the car? Is it names out of a hat? | davidosh
03/11/2020 09:50 | It'll be interesting to see what we hear in the next few days - BOTB announcement due any day. | peart
28/10/2020 15:50 | Might be coincidence, but this week’s Dream Car comp is another Supercar week - the biggest value prizes at the lowest prices. As a regular player as well as investor, only raising as despite the above, I’m sure this would be one of their most profitable weeks - rather than saving, people by more tickets incentivised by every possible prize being worth £140k+. With H1 finishing on Sunday, conscious timing to finish the quarter on an especially bumper week, ahead of potential trading update? | jlstocks
27/10/2020 20:19 | Trading update on 5th Nov folks!? Just doesn’t say anything in their IR section on the website | ryanc106
23/10/2020 13:13 | Those traders who got in hoping for a quick sell have obviously got bored & are now selling out | investographer
23/10/2020 13:10 | Said I wouldn't but gone and bought another 914 shares @ 14.65. I'm v surprised it's come back down to these levels tbh. | ryanc106
23/10/2020 12:50 | Agree, very cheap now. I've just bought some more but my trade has not printed as yet. | clanger66
23/10/2020 12:34 | Crazy cheap. | ryanc106
23/10/2020 12:33 | At a 3 month low & back to where it was when the For Sale Process was announced. | investographer
22/10/2020 12:43 | As ever, I'm with you Ryanc106, although I think your EPS numbers might be a bit conservative, but then again perhaps my suggested numbers are a bit of wishful thinking, although maybe not... I'd just be surprised for a small company that has hit its growth trajectory to grow by in excess of 100+% for two years running to then suddenly drop to circa 20 - 25% growth. I hope I'm right, as I'm sure you do! In any event, your more conservative numbers state that the current price is very cheap, whilst if my, albeit more optimistic, numbers prove closer to the mark then the current price is insanely cheap! As I keep saying only time is going to tell. | peart |
