20/11/2015 16:33 | Chart looking very strong still - we've had the re-trace (although very little selling actually) and the upward trend still very much in evidence. Time to add - assets many many times current m/c. | ![]() philjeans
15/11/2015 10:00 | Losing a bit of the recent gain here. Any ideas why? | fatboy20
09/11/2015 08:54 | It could be good, but how long will it take to see the benefits? it takes 10 years to build a power plant... | ulinbac
09/11/2015 08:39 | A typical Clarkson comment rubbishing everyone and everything but no way forward. Seems to me that the UK govt have got into bed with France and China and Hinckley Point C will happen leading to an upsurge in the demand for uranium. This can only be good for us!! | fatboy20

06/11/2015 14:51 | I agree, as does Robert Tyerman of SP Berkeley on the up after positive pre-feasibility study By Robert Tyerman | Friday 6 November 2015 Disclosure: I have no positions in any stocks mentioned, and no plans to initiate any positions within the next 72 hours. I wrote this article myself, and it expresses my own opinions. I am not receiving compensation for it (other than from ShareProphets). I have no business relationship with any company whose stock is mentioned in this article. Entrepreneurial Spain-focused uranium play Berkeley Energy (BKY) says an updated pre-feasibility study has transformed the economics of its flagship Salamanca project by including the project’s shallow high-grade Zona 7 deposit. Steered by managing director Paul Atherley, former boss of Leyshon Resources (which left AIM in June), AIM-quoted Berkeley, whose shares have more than doubled since early spring to 26.5p, says the study was ‘managed internally, utilising inputs from a number of independent contractors’ and argues it significantly enhances the commercial attractions of Salamanca, which is currently estimated to hold a potential 88.2 million lbs of U308 triuranium octoxide. According to Atherley, the updated study lifts Salamanca’s net present value 50% to $871.9 million (£566 million), compared with Berkeley’s £37 million AIM tag, and extends its prospective mine life from 11 years to 18 years, largely reflecting the inclusion of Zona, holding an estimated 31.4 million lbs of U308 with an average grade of 645 parts per million. Including Zona 7 and reflecting benefits from the weakness of the euro currency, the study also suggests capital spending to initial production will fall from a previously-estimated $95.1 million to $81.4 million and slashes expected cash costs (before financing expenses) from $24.6 a lb. to $15.6 a lb, which compares with present uranium prices of around $33 a lb., itself a third of former peak prices. Berkeley, which lost £3.8 million in the year to June, says recently reported drilling results from Zona 7., most of whose deposits lie within 50 metres below surface, included 13 metres with 8,543 parts per million of U30-8, 18 metres with 3,658 parts and 14 metres with 2,261 parts per million. The company has said metallurgical tests have conformed material from Zona 7, which will be within 10 km. from its proposed processing plant, will be suitable for low-cost heap leaching. Now Atherley declares ‘with major approvals in place and discussions with potential financiers under way, we expect to commence site work in mid-2016.’ Meanwhile, the Salamanca project contains several other potentially worthwhile deposits, including Retortillo, with an estimated 13.5 million lbs with U308 at 367 parts per million, Gambuta, possibly holding 11.1 million lbs with U308 at 394 parts per million and other satellite deposits with an estimated combined total of 12.5 million lbs with U308 at 460 parts per million. Uranium has been in the doldrums for some time, while nuclear power, for which it is the source, came under a cloud. With indications of a revival of nuclear schemes in some parts of the world, however preposterous the economics of the United Kingdom’s Hinckley Point nuclear power project, it is not impossible a revival could be on the cards. Berkeley is clearly speculative, But, if its own revised pre-feasibility study is borne out and funding becomes available on tolerable terms, while any final authorisations are forthcoming, the shares could find further support. | ![]() philjeans
06/11/2015 13:43 | Those worried about a share placing should be reassured by the fact that the mine development is likely to be financed largely by debt and off-take agreements. The company has sufficient cash ($11 million)to take it well into next year. Shareholders can take comfort from the fact that Numis, the house broker, has a target of £1 a share. That means, I suggest, a possible placing, at the time of the full banking feasibility study next spring, is unlikely to be below that level. The potential is huge. | ![]() wiseacre
06/11/2015 10:05 | EK now in here too. Looks very promising. | ![]() philjeans
06/11/2015 07:43 | Can't say fairer than that. Yeah Leyshon was a disappointment but you can't win them all and this one has solid geology, good approvals and every chance of a positive result. | fatboy20
05/11/2015 22:02 | What's eating you goldenfish? At least he had the decency to return the money to shareholders at Leyshon rather than let it sink and BKY's shares have nearly trebbled since he took the helm last June. He's on to a winner here. | ![]() wiseacre
05/11/2015 17:51 | Paul Atherley on the helm?? No thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!! | goldenfish2010
05/11/2015 17:29 | Interesting that they come up with an NPV of over (EDIT) 300p on existing resources, but are still going to search for more. Given that mine life is currently forecast as 18 years, they don't need more resources unless they want to increase the project size from 4.3 mln lbs per year. I bought today on the minor pullback, kicking myself for taking this long! | stevie blunder
05/11/2015 16:37 | There are horses for courses, and we are all different in many ways. My experience tells me that you will not regret holding shares in companies with a sound business and good prospect. Short-term trading only gets you a small percentage gain, and the more frequently you trade the more chances that you lose on some of them. | ![]() kingston78
05/11/2015 16:10 | I agree wholeheartedly. Dunno if I've got the patience to be in for years tho. Once the big boys really move in ie the fund holders then I think we;ll see a step change in the price | fatboy20
04/11/2015 20:37 | I am very bullish about this company because it has all the ingredients for success so far other than financing, which I understand is being negotiated and that there are various interested parties. The company has the blessing of the local government and native workers. It is going to create jobs and will become the 2nd largest uranium producer in Europe. I would suggest that this is a classic share for "buy and hold" for a few years to reap great rewards (a ten-bagger in the making). | ![]() kingston78
04/11/2015 18:23 | Just shy of 2 million shares traded and a bees wing away from a 30 % uplift today. Wish I could say the same for the rest of my portfolio!! | fatboy20
