14/7/2016 12:16 | kreature - a DFS is an appraisal compiled by many professionals concerning the viability or otherwise of the project. It is belts and braces. It sets out pluses and minuses. All these facts are taken into account by those with whom the CEO is negotiating finance. Hence for those who have the time it should be read warts and all. A more complicated document than a survey that most house purchasers obtain when intending to buy a house. If there is a problem with the roof referred to in the survey you have a choice. Do you buy the house willy nilly. Do you get a quote for the works? Do you renegotiate the price? Do you say no thanks? The basic principles are no different for the financiers looking to invest in BKY but more complex e.g. locality; politics; investment criteria etc etc. There will be those however who invest on "half the story" and good luck to them. | snowyflake

11/7/2016 06:13 | Rick Rule started his career in the 1970's bull market, which had a spectacular shift towards resources after a 50 year lull. He is preparing for what he believes may be the greatest shift in natural resource markets that he will witness for the rest of his career. He says that the next 5 years will be more generous for the junior resource space than most give credit for. The junior precious metals market is already up about 100% in a short period of timeAccording to Rule, in 18 months to 2 years from now there will be a synchronized bull market where the precious metals run, as well as other commodities. This will not be due to demand, but because of supply destruction. That type of market is extremely volatile to the upside. Gold prices will move in terms of the US dollar which hasn't happened since 2002.He is seeing new customers pouring into gold from across the spectrum. They are flowing into everything from the largest gold stocks, to gold specialized funds. Rule says it's a mistake not to own physical precious metals, with the market giving us so much so fast that it's getting frothy. There is also a strong retail demand for gold that has been absent to the market for the last 5 years.Uranium is perhaps even more exciting, as everything that needs to be in place for a truly incredible bull market is there. The worldwide demand for uranium is assured because of it's electricity generation efficiency. Rick has been deploying some of his own capital into the uranium space, and feels the market won't move for another year and a half.12 years ago, the last bull market in uranium stocks generated so much wealth, that the participants will be extremely aggressive this rise. When the price of physical uranium goes up, the benefit will be shared only by a few companies. This creates the possibility for an astronomical increase in share prices. | liambilson

07/7/2016 10:13 | Another bullish article on Uranium Prices hxxp://investingnews Struggles in the uranium industry have been talked about a lot recently, but with its worst year in a decade, it’s easy to understand why. While some are saying it appears as though the industry has reached rock bottom, uranium prices could see significant gains in the not-too-distant future. Uranium prices are currently sitting at $28 per pound, a $0.25 decrease from last week. However, prices are expected to double back up come 2018. Among those predicting the uranium price will pick back up is David Wang, an analyst with Morningstar. He expects the uranium price to reach $65 a pound by 2019. Another prediction comes from Haywood Securites—the firm expects the period between 2017-2020 “to be a landmark period for the nuclear sector and uranium stocks as the global operating nuclear reactor fleet expands.” Since the Fukushima disaster in 2011, uranium prices have no doubt been affected, and FocusEconomics‘ Japan has been able to recover since the disaster by bringing some of its reactors back online, with four of them already restarting operations. Meanwhile, the world is building more nuclear reactors than ever before. So, while uranium prices still have some time to go before they’re where they should be, there are certainly some who have a positive outlook for the industry. | snickerdog
01/7/2016 18:17 | This article was published today in ‘La Gaceta de Salamanca’, one of the main newspapers in the area, The piece is on BKY's commitment to sustainability. Rough translation below. Berkeley: committed to sustainability The Company is developing its uranium mining project in the Cuidad Rodrigo region and has strict rules in place to ensure its commitment to sustainability. In the Cuidad Rodrigo region of Spain Berkeley Minera is currently developing its uranium mining project. It’s well known that the regional government will only allow mining projects of this nature to proceed if the development of the project will be sustainable. Berkeley is an industry leader in this area, having already invested more than 60 million euros in its project, which is one of the most ambitious in Spain, and mining will begin at the Retortillo-Santidad deposit, which is located between Retortillo and Villavieja de Yeltes. “Our aim to put in place a mining project that will be an example to others in the sector, our project is developed so as to be in line with all the applicable rules and regulations. The project will also be developed using the latest sustainable mining techniques, to minimize the environmental impact on the area and maximize the economic return for the affected communities”, explained Francisco Bellon, General Director of Operations for Berkeley Energia. Concerns for the environment, sustainability and security are an integral part of Berkeley’s activities. The company gives top priority to the radiological health and safety of its employees, contractors and the communities in which it operates. Berkeley is one of the few mining projects in Spain which has had its Sustainable Mining Management (UNE 22470 / UNE 22480) and Environmental Management (UNE-EN-ISO 14001) certificates since 2012, and these are renewed annually by the local authorities. "These rules ensure that our mining activities are systematically monitored and that the sustainability indicators are a key consideration for all management within the company, and that in turn ensures that management work for the continuous improvement in the development of the project and its operations. It also helps generate confidence in us from third parties and stakeholders,” said Francisco Bellón. The Company’s Restoration Plan is proof of their commitment to sustainability, they plan to return the land to its original state after mining activities are complete, allowing for the formation of new pastures. This restoration is further aided by the company’s decision to use the transfer mining method, which allows land to be recovered and regenerated on an ongoing basis from the very start of operations. Through this technique, the areas of the site that have already been mined will be progressively refilled with soil from the next deposit. This will result in a constant regeneration as once this soil is added to the old deposit grass will grow and it will begin to resemble the surrounding areas. Berkeley industrial plan will generate significant investment and will provide significant economic and social benefits for the region. One of the most important benefits is job creation. It is estimated that the mining of the Retortillo-Santidad deposit will create 200 direct jobs and about 1,000 indirect jobs. | snickerdog

22/6/2016 22:30 | Good question though Piedro. Neither you, nor QP, nor Langostino are shareholders and yet you regularly post articles from obscure regional Spanish publications. Some of which are online blogs. Why are you posting in this Board? | herlat1
22/6/2016 21:12 | Laptop15, If you had taken the time to translate the article you would have found that it does concern Berkeley Energy, is neither for nor against the project and "En Ciudad Rodriguez" is refreshingly impartial, a point of view from which you could learn something. As to my relations with Berkeley, that is none of your business, but if you wish to be nosy, you could check back to near the beginnings of this bb and look up my contributions. It is regrettable that newcomers, of both camps {'for' and 'against'}, feel they have the right, like spoilt children, to barge in and disrupt what could be an informative discussion. It is knowledge that 'derisks' these sort of situations and objective contributions are most welcome. AIMHO, ...... :-) | piedro |
