Welcome on board '888.

I see you just signed up as a newbie and joined the advfn community just a few days ago on 30th. May. Your first post was 873 here this morning.

This is your second post only and you have never posted (under this name) before on advfn.

Life is full of so many surprises.

Herlat1 disappears off the face of the earth and now you appear as a brand new poster. New not just to this thread but to the whole of advfn.

My advice to you is to scurry off back to your chums on LSE where you can be a hero of the rampers' club.

This thread has become a little more investigative by its nature and may therefore not be ideally suited to your ongoing ramping agenda.

It still beggars belief in my opinion that you apparently spear-headed a ten-man conference call on Friday but couldn't get the company to answer the simple question of:

Q: Are the Audiencia Nacional looking into the legality of the mine.

On that basis alone, you have lost any credibility whatsoever on this thread even before you start.

I think the 173,000 signatories to the CHANGE.ORG petition speaks volumes.

I also invite you to participate over on LSE

It is a pleasure to talk to somebody with a differnt view to myself about a stock I hold , keeps things real , much to much ramping or deramping going on .

Balanced discussion is always the most valuable

For transparity I confirm that I do hold stock in BKY and that I increased my holding today.

Expecting it to be a VERY rewarding investment

Why a surprise ?
Always happy to discuss a share I hold.
It appears on the website that there are protests about pretty much everything on the planet but its good that free speech rules :)

I really can't see any problems for BKY moving ahead , every project has protesters , there will always be noise and i'm confident that the Spanish justice system will handle any objection with fairness and follow due process.

I guess at least 20000 people like BKY enough to apply for a job with them , its a shame such an area has suffered so much but at least the EU has paid for a great deal of infrastructure to help encourage companies like BKY to invest (saving us about $150m)

I guess the local govt won't complain at the royalties also :)

My personal view is that Nuclear should be applauded for speeding up the decommisoning of coal power stations and I truely hope in the future we get to a stage of 'green eutopia' where energy is free clean and available to everyone all around the world.

If i thought Nuclear bad I wouldnt invest as I dont invest in arms manufacturers and Tobacco firms , each to his own.

For what its worth I hope cameron does make an effort to remove tax tampons :)

Little known mine ???? One of the biggest mines in the world ?? As long as Black Rock , Fidelity etc know about it , The US and Chinese Utilities know about it and my broker keeps dealing with them .. well i'll settle for that

Very happy investor at the moment :)

what a grand surprise to see '888 jumping over to this bulletin board so unexpectedly from their normal LSE stomping-ground.

must have truly hit a raw nerve with '888 in mentioning the 173,000 supporters of the influential CHANGE.ORG petition against the Salamanca mine.

of course, the outcome of the CHANGE.ORG campaign for tampons is only too well known. The petitioners' collective voice was heard and they got their way.

what is truly amazing is that a petition about a little-known mine in Salamanca has stirred such opposition and support that it has already garnered more than 50% of the number of supporters that the tampon petition received.

it's going to be very hard for the local Spanish politicians to ignore the CHANGE.ORG campaign, especially at a time when the company seems to be fostering so much ill-will locally and the company is suing the locals as outlined in lanagostino's excellent recent post.

Not making many friends, are they.

The Australian management of Berkeley is heading for the same cul-de-sac as their Emed compatriots a few years ago. Prosecuting the locals and mishandling the politics will get them nowhere. It is astonishing that the fact of the Spanish High Court looking into the legality of permitting has not formally been announced to the market via RNS, however little credence the Australian management give to its success. Their opinion can be stated but is not the issue. Only on AIM!

As Laptop15 summed it up ... no one cares what you think or can even be bothered to have dialogue with you.

It's taken time but your game is finally up

You might not care but any potential business partner is, in my opinion only, very likely to care a great deal.

Ten people or more on a conference call - and no-one can answer this simple question????

Question: Is The Audiencia Nacional looking into the legality of the mine?

Three possible answers:-

1. Yes.

2. No

3. Dunno

Come on, you said you'd get an answer. Stand by your word. So what is it?

What is the answer to this simplest of questions?

Let's get to the heart of the matter. Not just the fluff and puff.

What is the answer to that question following the conference call?

Nobody is interested in hearing about EL PAIS or an other Spanish newspaper bringing up and stories anymore! You only have to look at all the investors here now and all the buys today to see that all is going well. The share price is up 40% since February.....statistics tell the truth QP so join us and give up the ghost!Once again thanks to all of you guys from LSE posting all the positive and exciting news from todays conference call :))

Audiencia Nacional have a duty to consider any appeal ... That's their job. End of

No-one is bothered apart from you and as you're not invested, you don't matter.

If I have understood correctly the conference call notes, this is indeed in my opinion a tacit confirmation by a spokesperson of Berkeley that The Audiencia Nacional are looking into the legality of the mine as per the El Pais article.

Is that right?

Did the spokesperson of Berkeley deny during said conference call that the El Pais article is correct and deny that The National Courts are looking into the legality of the mine?

What the outcome of any case may or may not be is at this point in time an unknown.

It would perhaps be best to let the Audiencia Nacional determine the answer. The Audiencia Nacional obviously thought that the matter was not perhaps wholly without merit in order to start looking into it initially.

If it were "just noise", it is highly unlikely in my view that the Audiencia Nacional would have decided to look into the matter in the first place and subsequently demanded the relevant files from the Ministry of Industry.

As the conference call has apparently not denied the El Pais article, I believe that we have a roundabout confirmation that the Audiencia Nacional are looking into the legality of the mine irrespective of what certain parties may or may not feel about its merit and/or outcome or otherwise.

Hi Inga66

I understand Serendipity888 is planning to post a summary for those that missed it so I won't post there and step on toes. I'll add comment there once he's posted.

It was QP's scaremongering post I was addressing here just to reassure posters it's all a load of hot air

The tide has turned.

It has now finally become apparent to all that what I/others have been saying about the El Pais article of 27th. April cannot be ignored.

Nor will the question go away until it receives a full and unequivocal response.

If it has been picked up on the bulletin boards, it will also undoubtedly have been picked up by now by all potential business parties in my opinion who are doing any form of due diligence.
