The uranium price in the last month was $34-35 while over the last twenty years the price averaged around $33/lb.
On that basis a suitable base case would be $35-40 whereas in today's pre-feasibility study BKY have used $65/lb?
The absence of NPV/IRR figures suggest they were bad even at that high price. At today's price surely non-viable.

I have seen upstart outsiders taking the connected locals to court before and they seldom win. I know this is in neutral Paris and don't know the finer points here but the price will drift down as we all get bored and find more exciting prospects. I have been in and out of BKY a couple of times and never made any headway although I like the story. I hold APF also and am suffering buyer's remorse there although, again, I like the investment case. Just difficult days, I suppose

langostino,

Enusa are certainly being more forceful in their arguments but I wonder
how much is just politics.
Notably, Berkeley has been changing their management; either there
really is something wrong with the project or they didn't understand
the 'Latin' mentality - IMHO

As it is very quiet on this bb - I mostly publish BKY happenings on over
at APY, the principal shareholder (15%) + royalties - cf: #370 / 383 / 389-390

Berkeley Initiates International Arbitration against Enusa for an amount exceeding US$200 million
....
.... Berkeley Managing Director, Brendan James stated "Delays on the joint venture project have been disappointing, and could not be allowed to continue indefinitely. Arbitration is not the preferred outcome for Berkeley, or for the region of Ciudad Rodrigo, but one we are forced to undertake to defend our rights, and to achieve a resolution. It is important to note that this action will not distract the management team from delivering upon Berkeley's 100%-owned Salamanca I project. Being completely independent of the Joint Venture Project, the Salamanca I project remains on-schedule, and we expect to initiate construction in 2013".

Basically, it says ...
The final decision is with the Spanish Government
The exploitation of the mine would be v.important in resolving the problem of unemployment and depopulation of the region.
On the 23 Febuary, ENUSA would respond to the factibility study presented by Berkeley.
To the date ENUSA has not made a pronouncement as they have a confidentiallity pact.

Update on the Berkeley-Enusa JV Uranium Project ...

... Berkeley has extended the deadline to 29 February 2012, following the recent change in government in Spain.

Also, Berkeley and Enusa have jointly agreed to extend the deadline for Enusa to inform Berkeley of its conclusions on the Feasibility Study, to no later than 23 February 2012. This review is in consideration of the Mining Domain Conceptual Basic Engineering Report (CBER) delivered by Berkeley on 10 November 2011.

...Once the agreed formalities and conditions have been fulfilled, both companies will proceed to finalise the agreements and form NEWCO.

The incorporation of NEWCO triggers the payment of €20M to Enusa within 30 days of formation...
