21/3/2009 12:27 | Doesn't mean the market hasn't bottomed in what that says imo. Pidgley said we are within 5% of the bottom. The actual bottom might be 6 months off - the market moves in advance. We might actually be seeing the market started moving even further because never before have we seen so many people 'short selling' via spreadbetting and those guys actually have to buy to close their position and so the more they feel we are nearing the bottom the more they will close and increase the share price. Would builders have fallen this low without shorting? When builders start breaking out you'll see massive short closing that will exacerbate the rise imo. CR | cockneyrebel
21/3/2009 00:43 | Interesting comments from John Anderson. Does he know that his boss has called the bottom of the market? | hamlette
21/3/2009 00:17 | As i said 800 then back to 900 Maybe, now i think lower before a rise, we will see | c6rey1
20/3/2009 19:59 | good article...do you think Tony is glad he called his son Tony? | the white house
20/3/2009 13:43 | yes, read that :-) Travis Perkins making a breakout. CR | cockneyrebel

18/3/2009 09:44 | out long @ 909p...short opened til new regs? clarified | the white house
16/3/2009 19:35 | good spot Jon...not that surprising to me as i called it on here 5 weeks ago, we both cant be wrong can we !?!? In fact last week on my Super Prime road on the south coast a house went up for sale for the highest ever price to be asked and two buyers agreed the full asking price with the week... with mortgage rates this low, the stock market challenging to say the least and deposit rates almost negative at least and the fact you cant take it with you, at least you can enjoy your spend with a decent property, which BKG do provide. Vis A vis the BKG share price do you not think that Tony , who said deals had doubled two or three weeks bck, must be continuing at this higher rate for him to make such a call..??..Next trading update must be going to look a lot rosier than it was looking in Jan methinks | the white house
16/3/2009 15:43 | A surprising statement, but our boss isn't one to bet against: Tony Pidgley, the great sage of the housebuilding industry, has called the bottom of the market. | jonwig
15/3/2009 12:33 | yes melody, I thick a bit of a pull back might happen before it carves through especially if the general market sees another pull back as is likely after the recent rises. I can live with that tho. CR | cockneyrebel
15/3/2009 09:13 | Sorry but i see this short down to 800 before a rise back to 900 | c6rey1
09/3/2009 22:22 | cr - this time a false one - giving a few latecomers the chance to get in - classic ascending triangle - its pushing despite the fallen ftse - as soon as the main market turns this could move rather quickly imo. could easily see 1200 in short time - that is my first target. | melody9999
09/3/2009 14:19 | Breakout!!! | cockneyrebel
06/3/2009 11:15 | Still buyers about - broke the Feb high yesterday. Expect a bounce in the US next week and these to make the real big breakout then myself. CR | cockneyrebel
05/3/2009 08:56 | Pushing the Dec high this am - 960 next resistance when it goes through then whoosh! imo. CR | cockneyrebel
04/3/2009 16:02 | £9 - knocking on heaven's door. CR | cockneyrebel
04/3/2009 08:45 | Gagging for a breakout today - rate cut tomorrow ought to push it through if not today imo. CR | cockneyrebel
03/3/2009 18:05 | there was dilution ssords - about 5% more shares. The price has risen because of the results and the fact that it was easy for them to raise the money. They are going to pick up land from distressed sellers now - Pidgley is a past mater at this. These are expected to make 92p eps this year. Strip out the cash and the market cap is £750m. Roughly with the cash stripped out these are £6 a share makin 90p a share, no debt. PE 6.5 at the bottom off the cycle! Ruddy cheap imo. CR | cockneyrebel
03/3/2009 12:53 | Seems like with all this cash, they will be a shark swimming around and amongst the distressed building minnows, shovelling them up at distressed prices. Prefer though that they merely take away some or all of their land banks, why take on other companies problems. Still surprised that share price not initially diluted though. Ssords | ssords
03/3/2009 08:27 | About to breakl out imo. CR | cockneyrebel
02/3/2009 11:31 | 50 day cut through the 100, 150 and 200 day moving averages - hyper bullish imo. A rate cut later this week will do no harm either. CR | cockneyrebel
28/2/2009 10:30 | Cheers jonwig - BKG are my favourite builder at the moment - expecting these to breakout soon no matter what the market does in general. CR | cockneyrebel
28/2/2009 09:48 | Prime London property market strength: | jonwig |
