09/3/2016 09:45 | Their houses and apartments are superbly built and fitted out. Very desirable. My wife and I decided to purchase a Berkeley apartment overlooking the river offplan about two years ago. We changed our minds and bought shares in the company instead. Less risky and more liquid. | barnesian

08/3/2016 16:01 | Thank-you for posting Rock Star. I don't know which developers are affected, but they could be unaffected, apart from: ""In pockets of London's newly developed areas, where there is a lot of speculative development, the outcome could quickly turn nasty with buyers drying up, developers having to cut prices and investors dumping their newly acquired flats before construction of them has even finished," Trevor Abrahamson, head of the prime property estate agent Glentree, told the Evening Standard." There is no mention of developers not selling at market price, it even says: "The data is simply pointing to a downward direction," Michelle Ricci, co-founder of Propcision, told IBTimes UK. "Does it mean that these are now under market value? No, it doesn't mean that just yet." My understanding from article is that foreign investors are buying as a financial tool, either to sell on completion at a profit, or to let, but the new tax law is gobbling the margin. So possibly still OK to develop and sell to market at "market value", but secondary market of quick kills (buy off plan and sell on completion) and buying to let taking a dive, atleast by foreign nationals. So as a long term holder, I will continue to hold ftb. | dr_smith
08/3/2016 15:37 | An Interim Management Statement will be issued on Friday, 18 March 2016. It is really hard to see how this can be positive news. I'm sure the dividend is safe for at least a couple more years because of the conservative financial management and the large bonuses that depend on it. So it will continue to give an excellent yield. But the market sentiment and medium term uncertainty I fear will hit the share price even more than it already has when the management statement is issued. So I have sold my 2000 shares today. If I'm right, I'll be able to buy back in at a lower price during the next few months. If I'm wrong, I have crystallised a decent capital gain and received excellent dividends over the last couple of years. I am content. | barnesian

08/3/2016 12:48 | NY Boy,I tend to agree with you.But if you feel so sure about this, wouldn't it be a great opportunity for you to short it (if you haven't done so already that is)?Must be very easy to do a short for FT100 company! | swerves1
08/3/2016 12:45 | Rock Star, a very good article that.About time London prices started to drop though! | swerves1
08/3/2016 12:09 | NY Boy - 04 Jan 2016 - 16:40:16 - 1364 of 1410 When the property market tips over these will tank big time. The party has been over for some time, these are heading down to sub 2000p by year end. Property is in a massive bubble, once they have sucked in the mugs at the bottom end the interest rates will rise as they are well behind the curve. It's started in prime central London last year, buyers have disappeared, especially foreign buyers. Much of it stolen dodgy money too. The luxury apartment market is imploding, too much for sale, prices being slashed, no buyers, the outcome is obvious. | ny boy
07/3/2016 18:21 | Luxury London property market is in paralysis. | chillpill
06/3/2016 07:49 | Thanks Mike. I was just shocked by the scale of it, 5% of the company and on its own, higher than any daily trading volume in the last three years. | cancun tango
05/3/2016 15:21 | Central London Luxury flat market is a disaster zone. Major price re rating to come as Asian Property speculators flee the market. | rock star
04/3/2016 14:31 | @cancun tango ... the UT trade at the end of the day is an end of day auction that is conducted automatically at 4.30-4.35 to match as many orders as is possible that are left on the order book. It's often used by market makers to move shares between themselves after the days trading. I have seen folk use it as an indicator of which direction a share is going in the next trading session ... if the UT is struck lower than the closing price then the theory is that its going to open and go lower ... the opposite being the case. But that's a tenuous link and you'll need to do your own research on that one! Mike | mikeindevon
