Probably working capital. Legal companies have to do months of work before they get paid, so receivables could end up outweighing payables by a large amount ... though it could be other things, too.

not really relevant to BEG, but something in today's RNS puzzles me:

"It had net assets of GBP0.2m (including GBP0.3m net cash) at 31 March 2023."

The non-cash assets must be worth negative £100k, but if debt is accounted for in calculating net cash, how is that achieved? What has a negative value apart from debt?

They issued about 1.8m new shares over the last two months, a tad over 1% of the shares in issue. Of those, 1.5m were announced on Oct 5 when the share price was already at the recent low. I don't think that's a major factor.

What is behind this strategy?Apart from diluting and depressing the share price?

Look at all the share issues the company has made in the past few weeks diluting the share price. That's what's going on.

Just dropped in, weird chart action, surely a takeover target soon, target 100p, looking to take another holding soon, sold years ago 2017/2018 from memory.

Like many U.K. stocks many have been badly beaten up.

Based on your comments, would you expect a breakout to the upside to occur shortly?Even as you say a retrace to 88p may also be possible, which leaves me wondering whether this company is on an uptrend or a downtrend?

Poised for stellar growth, lots of new business, perfect storm for nature of business, offers defensive growth and potential earnings upgrade at reasonable prices.

Double digit (up to -27%) decline underperformed the wider market, resilient businesses perfect storm not fully materialised yet, growth expected (??) to deteriorate between now and 2026, difficult to evaluate.

Article IC is this why the price is going down by the week, soon retrace to 88p at this rate.

The share price performance is baffling to say the least.Regrettably and sadly the sudden outbreak of war in Israel at the weekend is not likely to improve business sentiment or confidence either nationally or internationally, especially if oil prices spike or the conflict widens, letting the inflation genie run wild.

The share price is inversely proportional to all the positive news, I've said it before scratching my head with this one. Good job the news and recommendations are on the positive side or else it would be at 50p !

Sp down to an 18 month low now. Be interesting to see if 100p holds. BEG should be thriving under the current economic climate, but the market suggests otherwise.

It's always a possibility.Get out whilst the going's good, as they say.Other factors may also be at play here, such as the CEO, and other board members considering or eyeing their retirement. It must certainly look attractive to other companies in the sector, who would like to acquire the overflowing instructions book, with the amount of insolvency's and administrations snowballing by the minute. This situation is not likely to change anytime soon, with the UK business sector descending into utter turmoil.A possible benefit of a takeover could be that the buyer/ company is listed on the Footsie 100/250, rather than AIM , as at present. These remarks are all just possibilities , and are aremade without prejudice.

There was no mention of a scandal, profits warning, senior management retiring, inquiry in to insolvency practices or a lack of growth.
It's just in an unloved sector at the moment but it would be ironic if because of it's relatively low valuation that it becomes a takeover target for someone.
I don't think it will but stranger things have happened in the market.

Business doing OK it seems.

I find it very hard to value, given the deferred acquisition payments (estimated at c.20m in the Annual Report with max of 35m IIRC)

Possibly on the cheap side?
