As for cyber the company forecast releasing commercial product before the end of this year which would massively expand the potential market away from single Israeli govt customer ..not mentioned again. More Govt contracts from a Netanyahu led Govt ..a previous advisor to the company whose right hand man sits on the BATM board might risk further questions...there are enough of those already.

Inventory build in tests that have a limited life and no contract signed yet..seems sensible. I have already posted the divi and ador numbers its the balance that was attributed to currency in the first half ..much of the move now reversed that i am interested in. The company make no comment on investing in sales etc etc..just the currency losses. If we are down $28m in cash and $9m is attributable to ADOR and divi how the heck are we losing so much in currency ?? If we are throwing $20m into the businesses in sales initiatives why not say that? Seems huge for a $120m revenue $100m market cay company.

2 of the most bullish comments in the recent TU were the paragraph regarding the new, prospective Cyber contract and the reference to some of the revenues from the CF deal as 'near-term'.

How is this profitable if there is $20m of investment ongoing in 11 months ? This seems capital intensive after years of R&D to actually have products that might sell. Not saying investment for growth is a bad thing in any way but describing a business making $7m ebitda that is seeing cash depleting at $20m a year i wouldn't see as profitable. Maybe next year the benefits will show through...or maybe the year after ..or...

I believe, outside of currency impacts, all of the following have come ‘out’ this calendar year: the divi, the Ador investment, and the taxes payable on the NG soft disposal, all of which were around 4million. That’s 12-ish plus currency impact. From there I think they are indeed investing in their growth opportunities, especially human capital for Telco/Edgility, as per Resistance’s comments, as well as likely investing in some inventory build to service the Southeast Asian testing contract.

Call me an old cynic but buying the shares without cancelling does nothing other than transfer ownership of the bought shares to BATM.
My cynical view is that buying now and not cancelling does not change the share price. Therefore if there is a plan to take the company private the buyback will reduce the number of shares to be bought and therefore a lower price to complete a private buyout.
The principle of a buyback is that a percentage are bought and cancelled thus reducing the quantity in circulation and so in theory if the capitalized value remains the same then the share price will increase proportionately. It never seems to work in practice having watched buybacks in the market. I've always thought a special dividend is better than a buy back but thats an aside.

Quite a significant investment ( I would think ) setting up a marketing team in the US for Telco. Also new Telco CMO plus supporting team in Israel. Allow several $million for this in upfront investment.

Probably missed yesterday in the BS on the buyback. But any sensible ideas on the level of cash going out the business? On cash I think there should be more questions on why a "profitable" company is seeing such sharp cash drawdown.8th DEC before latest buybacks."BATM is profitable with a very strong balance sheet comprising both cash and investments in financial assets of approximately $40m" 24th August '22 interims"At 30 June 2022, the Group had cash and cash equivalents and financial assets of $47.4m (31 December 2021: $67.8m; 30 June 2021: $64.9m)." "Financial assets represent cash deposits of more than three months' duration, held for trading bonds and marketable securities."The cash is still falling even into the second half and is down by $28m so far this year. That leaves a lot down to currency..that does no add up. $19m cash drop on currency..even after the $ has fallen back against most currencies?Interims again.."The change in cash and cash equivalents and financial assets compared with the prior periods primarily reflects dividend and buy-back payments of $5.1m; an additional investment in ADOR of $4m; and the impact of the weakening of the currencies in which the Group's subsidiaries operate compared with the US dollar."This seems a valid concern.

I think the company are buying back shares again at the 22.80+ range and investors are pushing the Sp up slightly with 23p+ buys, imho

I note that the Ennismore have finally closed their short from last year. Very suspicious, they knew something.

Nobody is happy with the share price at this level but longterm mopping up the shares now will be seen as a good move

Hi nellyb the company haven't actually said they will cancel the buyback shares, but have taken the 3m shares away from the TVR total which can only be positive imho

The 'buyback' shares are being held in treasury. Does the company have any plans to cancel them?

Great to see the buyback in progress-very positive. More importantly mopping them up at a fraction of the price they would have paid when buyback originally announced so, esp if they keep it up, will significantly reduce the number of shares in issue which, combined with expected good news flow in 23, will have a disproportionately positive effect on the share price once things start moving in the new year. Smart move and a smart new CEO taking advantage of market hysteria.

Great to see the buyback continues, I only hope they start to buyback the shares at a premier to current Sp to help increase the Sp over time, they shouldn't be mopping up at distressed prices, imho!

"I very much doubt" is not fact it is your opinion , IF shore was active on Friday not for BATM that would not be surprising they are the shop and the only broker that researches the stock and will undoubtedly be doing the buy back when it is active..so would attract any natural business. If had BATM had made any market purchases on Friday it would need to be reported pre market open next trading day.

that's not correct, you are simply wrong, but this is really getting surreal. shore cap was active on friday and I very much doubt they had anyone else doing significant volume without the Company buying on the other side

In fact same day ideally but pre market the next day suffices.Any purchase on BATM behalf on Friday would have to be announced at latest pre 8 am Monday. If they made purchases Friday that were "warehoused" and reported a day late on Tuesday ...that is an issue. Can only think they were not active on Friday as the price was too high against their remit.

I understand that any market purchases in a buy back against company instructions should not be warehoused and announced the next day.
