Over 1m share traded on TASE with price dropping. A big share dump. Not a great day all round. Shareholders taking a battering.

Well the company has shareholder approval for the buy back and has said if forms part of the company strategy from board level. There needs to be a full explanation of why this has not been enacted and certainly if it is not going to be enacted in the near future. If there is news which has made the company restricted it really is dragging its feet. The AGM authorising buy back was almost 4 months ago!If it is regulatory they should have announced as soon as they knew there was an issue and advised how they would approach it.Strange times but such an extended unexplained delay in implementing strategy is not on , they could cover by saying it was always at their discretion but thats not good enough.

Kooba there will be no share buyback. Down another 4% this morning. We need a statement from the company soon. I guess they will wait until the H1 results in August

The approval is for the buyback of up to 44,053,412 shares they've done 200,000 about $123k worth . If they completed balance at current price that would only be $18.76m.We have also traded for six months since the last cash figure so one would hope we were trading profitably with free cash generated.

60m roughly, though half is presumably still set aside for the buyback. Cash is not an issue

I've just listened to the interview on proactive investors re the new deal.

I was shouting at her to ask the right questions - how much in sales, per customer, or at least something on the money side. It ended up being a sales pitch.

No, I don't think BVC exhibits any real signs of a big seller that is, or needs to be, cleared. We're just hacking our way through the cynicism that has developed around so many otherwise healthy UK small/mid caps over the past year and accelerated over the past 6 weeks. That's why the price action in Tel Aviv is so important to keep an eye on, since, if the early indications of real buying over there continue, then obviously, the UK price will likely not be able to resist the pull higher.

Echo maybe so but do you think they are still clearing a major seller.

I must admit that the deal with CityFibre surprised me as I thought the UK would have been one of the more difficult targets for Telco Systems.
The complete lack of interest from UK investors is hard to fathom with this on home turf so to speak.

The Pandemic forced through changes in the Telecom Industry due mandatory work at home environment. Thats not going away any time soon and the certain scaling down of business travel means that virtual meetings are here to stay and need to have an "in the room" experience and for that to happen ..... the whole approach needs to change.

Fwiw fse, there was actually some pretty good buying in Israel for the 2nd straight day. share price there closed down small, but still a solid 36.5p equivalent on near 1/2m shares after a big day yesterday. The only thing that really held it back was a lack of interest/turnover over here. As I wrote earlier, I think there may be some genuine institutional interest over there that recognises - at least to some extent - what a major breakthrough yesterday's announcement was.

Well no one is buying on the LSE at all no action in spite of a very relevant new partnership. Over on TASE more selling 600000+ NIS traded and thats it.
This makes absolutely less than no sense and about the only time we get any rise on LSE is when TASE is closed on Friday.
The CityFibre partnership is relevant for many reasons. The main observation is that this is technology thats "been" developed and is now being deployed.
There was an excellent interview with the CEO of Telco systems with further mentions of partners like Advantech who are selling Edgility OS enabled devices.
It does not seem to matter whats announced it goes no where ... BATM released an excellent set of year end results with positive future guidance and the share price fell.
The announcement from Telco systems is completely non dilutive its simply more business for them.

Cant remember the last time the Israeli line traded such a big multiple of the UK volume.

Has the news of the last couple of days shed any more light on the paused buy back? My money is still on the sale of Telco. I can see that an announcement of a sale or notification of a potential buyers interest could have possibly hampered yesterday's contract negotiation. With the trial now commencing there is surely more flexibility?

A bit more information.....

"Network construction is currently underway in over 60 cities with services live in more than 45 locations".

The way I've heard it, management had to explain to Israeli holders and other institutions who CityFibre are, but after that, they got it. Knock wood, but it's been fairly consistent buying - and the vast bulk of the volume altogether - from over there since.

Bit more content.

City Fibre already have clients connected @1.5M so they do have the end users to Pilot or Beta with.

another reference to Vodafone in this article .....who we know they have been talking to...
There is a real possibility they will do at least some business with Vodafone in some departments.

You normally overlap on these things to maintain Telco System ownership , merely saying Telco Systems, BATMs 100% owned subsidiary developing cutting edge next generation telecommunication equipment and software is pleased to...Gets in all in ! Just odd the release doesn't mention Telco Systems at all when one presumes it is well known in the market it serves..one would hope! At least Telco is a fully owned Batm company, when Zvi talks on Ardor he makes it sound like it too is a fully owned Batm company..which it is obviously not.Oh well feeling more positive and very much doubt this news is in any way a factor in buy back delay. Will likely have to wait for interims for fuller across group update and see if anything else is bubbling.

Yes it is a bit obtuse but Telco systems is not a separately listed company that you can buy shares and as you say this is aimed at investors so they have to make it from BATM.
I do feel there is very real merit in listing Telco Systems on NASDAQ as its a heck of a lot tidier. Those wanting to invest in medical technology can through BATM and those more interested in Telecoms have a choice.
With a separate listing its still part of BATM at the end of the day so I don't see the issue.
I totally accept why they could not do this before and it was not in the best interests at the time, but times have changed based on what Ariel Efrati communicated.

Agreed on the Telco ceo , but they do have issues around branding..are they Telco or Batm to the telecommunications market. It's slightly confused , I realise Efrati has two hats and that proactive is aimed at BATM investors but the press release to market and CityFibre quote doesn't even mention Telco systems. Maybe they don't want it as a stand alone subsidiary which i thought it was.

I thought you were talking about a Shore release. I need to seek therapy for anger management every time I see shore anything !

I just watched the Ariel Efrati interview and I am glad Marom let him do the interview.
He has become much more polished in his English Interviews and the entire Telco outfit appears sharper all round. They have been under enormous pressure to get out of the starting gates with this and looks like they have achieved this.

Telco systems have indicated that they are in discussion with several other large players. I had an 80% view that Telco would either get taken over or would enter into a controlling partnership with a very large company.
Efrati interview suggest I might be wrong on that score and it looks as if they are going to run with this themselves... not sure how that pans out

Reposting the link to Telco systems interview which paulisi posted above.
Its a MUST watch.
