'needlessly provocative'. Does it take much to provoke you Barry? You are usually the epitome of calm serenity. A veritable Buddha.

ok, kooba, I tried treating you like grownup. Hopefully legit shareholders can see you're a bad actor and filter your comments accordingly in future. yah

because a 'suspension' means something very specific: a company has announced a SPECIFIC buyback policy: x number of shares per day at y price, or perhaps (far less common) an announcement that the company will use its buyback authority to opportunistically buy blocks of shares, or some such. Once that has been officially announced, only then can a buyback be 'suspended' which companies will due most often if the capital is required elsewhere as in times of financial stress, or perhaps for important investment needs. This obviously does not apply to BVC as they have not made any official announcement as to how the buyback will be conducted yet in the first place. Yes, they made the one transaction, but that was clearly a one-off and for now, means nothing. So: since there has been no real beginning, there can be no 'suspension' Q.E.D., and thus what I have advanced continues to be by far the most likely explanation; namely, that because of the trickiness of capital return regs in Israel plus the holiday period, the whole process has simply been delayed a bit. Incompetent maybe, but hardly anything sinister, which is why I am trying to emphasise that the use of the word 'suspended', especially as I've explained the basics a a half dozen times now, can be seen as needlessly provocative.

How is it not a suspension and please show evidence that would need an rns.

ok, how's this: a suspension would require an announcement from the company. nothing to disagree on, therefore no suspension, just a delay

That’s odd, car1pet, I was actually present at the AGM and found all three execs to be extremely professional. I’ve been on both sides of the table at AGMs of many companies since last century so it’s not my first rodeo. What, specifically, were you expecting that didn’t happen?

I know isn't it just you are saying they haven't made buybacks under the recent authorisation when they have in fact. Any purchase has to goes through the market and shouldn't be negotiated with a seller directly I thought as that could favour one shareholder over another. Sure they will tell us why suspended at some point.

I know a man that knows a man who knows the Queen and thats an indisputable fact. On that logic someone on here should know someone who knows WTF is going on.
Unless there is nothing to discover.

really kooba, this is getting silly. The company did exactly one trade so far; they bought a block of 200k as I recall, as it appears a seller went directly to them and they are authorised to do transactions such as that. Otherwise, the buyback, as it is generally understood - ie, a policy of buying a certain % of the daily volume at a proscribed premium to the day's average price - has not yet begun. So in fact, there is nothing therefore to suspend in the first place, even if that were the appropriate reference in this case, which it is not.

'I also read books but didn't know what cognoscenti means...but know I know...'

It is a perfectly cromulent word amongst the city types. I think Barry will confirm as much.

A delay in implementing share buybacks might be one thing..starting share buybacks then stopping is another..you are perhaps making more of the word suspending than absolutely necessary but it is factual correct ..the impact however is exactly the same..for some unknown reason they are not effecting stated shareholder approved strategy of buying in shares.Kemche..i think i know very well what i am saying.

again, kooba, nothing has been suspended. No matter how many times you may want to use the word, it will still be inappropriate. Any genuine suspension would have required an RNS. This is just a delay in something that has barely begun.....

No Kooba - dooshing. It is quite the phrase in the square mile - but you will not know about it as it is only in vogue amongst the cognoscenti and knowers of stuff.

Kooba, If you insist on continuing in the same vein then you will leave me with no choice but to take ownership and drop the mic whilst also dooshing. For the avoidance of doubt I own a merchant bank.
