Seems like a big move recently, but here's a 20 year chart from 2000 to give perspective.

Fwiw more from a trader's pov, when you get a break-out so strong like this and with institutions buying as well, you want to ride it for as long as you can. I know it's tempting to take profits especially if you held this for a long time but "cutting your winners and running your losers" is a classic mistake many folks are making.

If zvi. Is out there reading this board he should develop a covid 19 instant detection toothbrush that we use 3 times a day ,which communicates directly with a phone app so every one in the world will know exactly where they stand with the virus ,this would be a money spinner and we all have lovely white teeth

I guess your market is closed there closed in Israel also. Figured out a bunch of trades and they were declined, I freaked out as there were funds on hand. Chinese girl told me you cant buy when market shut, what do you want to do !
Take the rest of the day off I said. Enjoy the weekend.

>ice man...... just sell the portion that you are not comfortable holding ie top slice.
You still have an investment so wont get burned like space bob if they charge ahead. I have a long term investment amount with this company plus a trading amount. This is a core investment for me which I have held for many years you can do OK trading on the movements and if you miss a cycle its just a matter of waiting as the company is well financed and not going anywhere and likely to make further announcements.

FWIW I am OUT of the main market and just holding defensive or special situations like BVC.

I am up 85% here, having bought in March. It’s currently the best performing holding in my portfolio out of about 20, and I’ve held some of the others for much longer and am deeply in the red with plenty. Makes up around 4%.

Temptation for me is to sell a few. Last year I made about 15k from dividends - I don’t rely on them for income but that was a decent wedge and with many of them cancelling this year it’s going to collapse to 2-3k. My dreams of retiring on them at some point have been given a rude awakening. Taking profits is like taking a dividend, although I tend to reinvest rather than spend. All have different rules in our heads.

When to take profits? That's the question many of us are asking ourselves. I bought in not too long after the dotcom boom/bust because BATM was one of the few tech survivors. The share price hardly budged from my circa 20p buy-in price for many, many years. Until it showed signs of life a couple of years ago.

All my other holdings dropped a little at the start of Covid-19 and I quickly sold out and put all my eggs in the BATM basket. Whilst my previous shares continued to plummet, BATM proved to be a winner.

I'm acutely aware of the danger of having all my eggs in one investment basket, but at the same time don't want to take profits too soon. My buddy, Space Bob, got a squeaky bum and sold his BATM holding about 6 weeks ago - the shares have since increased in value by 70%!

The one thing holding me back from taking some profit is a comment Zvi made during a Proactive Investor interview. It was the one discussing the tie-up with Novamed and the home flu/cold/covid-19 test kits they are producing. He mentioned they are talking to big-boys to upscale production (between them they can only produce 250,000 kits per month). If there is an RNS announcement that they are partnering with a Tier 1 company to manufacture and market the home test kits, this share will absolutely rocket!!

I've just been to the Adaltis website and it is difficult to find anything about sars-cov-2. If you are attempting to generate the best value for shareholders, this is one of the most important things to do at this moment.
I believe there may be a predator in the wings buying up shares, looking to buy the molecular diagnostics/infectious disease diagnostics/Adaltis.
To get the best price for all of us, it is in our interests to communicate what Adaltis has to offer at this time.
Please update the website!

No offence taken its just that you took my comment out of context. There are currently shares out there for PI's but that could change. Volumes on TASE have also been higher.
I am also thinking that the general market has been very resilient and I feel overestimates the future condition of the economy and the longer these lock downs continue the more difficult the recovery will be.
Portfolio managers do not have a lot of promising options and the infectious disease sector is now a large concern and may attract further institutional interest in companies like BATM. Who know ... just speculation at the moment.

We have not been talking about Telco systems but with 5G rolling out it will usher in a different way of doing business. 5G could offer different parameters for business to operate in. Video conferencing and working at home could be the new norm for many people which will in turn reduce societies carbon footprint.
This virus outbreak will accelerate and expand 5G operatives.

>boggy..... there have been instances over the years that institutions have increased their positions and others have come on board which has created a shortage of shares and the share price has risen with supply not meeting demand.
It can be an issue if you are building a stake as I say at the moment we are OK but its a matter to consider.

Conversely institutions may sell shares if they are constricted by numbers and portfolio mandates. They may still be bullish on the company but have too much on the table due to recent rises and will take profits which does not necessarily have any relevance to the strength of the company at the time.

Just read steeplejack reply..... thats about the size of it.

When you’ve got large director share interests plus an institution like Lombard Odier holding a quarter of the equity, then there isn’t much “free” equity up for grabs. This means that day to day trading can be relatively “thin” and thus more volatile. If there’s good buying interest, the stock will reflect it with swift appreciation,if there are sellers about ,then the reverse will apply. Its as simple as that.

FTE - so will the fact that majority of shares are held by a few suppress the price rise or mean it will increase more?

paulisi..... Yeah Marom said they call it the Italian dream ! They must like giving medical samples more than Pizza. Still I gather its been well received.

We will see profit taking along the way and its worth mentioning again that there are not that many shares available to PI's as most are held by Marom and institutions. If institutions increase their positions it may actually get difficult to acquire any number of shares. At the moment its somewhat fluid but that could change.
