Just managed to catch up on results, podcast and presentation from yesterday. Fantastic and in reality, given the bear attack and war, exceeded expectations. Added more this morning.

The devolution of the solutions used by Government security platforms to be added to the already comprehensive set of solutions Celare and the cyber branch is a potentially if not certain huge growth area.
All of this cyber business is coming against a backdrop of world unease and major systems upgrades to new standards in the Telco industry. IOT and SOHO.
Its a different world out there than 5 years ago.
I am not surprised that ST highlighted this in his BUY tip I have posted pretty much the same thing on here and thats what we are hearing from the company also.
This is another further/additional untapped revenue stream for the company and one that Marom has mentioned several times in interviews.

You will have to cut and paste this link

Across the board we are seeing improvements in all areas. The substantial margins are a major attention getter.
Heres a link to the published full set of results. Its easier to read and BATM have made note of the one time effects of the ventilator contract and the sale of NG Soft so you can accurately see just where they are at.
There is a lot of information in here and of particular note is that Edgility revenue is now flowing and will start to show up in the H1 figures for 2022 this will gather momentum and snowball going forwards.
Another standout was the advanced nature of the RCA offering which could see initial sales this year with a fuller rollout in 2023 with reagents , kits, readers (NatLab) ... This is far further ahead than I expected.

Dependent on what figures you use the current PER is 15 to 21. Hugely undervalued.

There is added comment in this post.

Tipped by Simon Thompson again in the Investors Chronicle tonight.

Our small-cap stockpicking expert highlights a technology group that's a likely beneficiary of the uncertain geopolitical situation.

Expect retaliatory Russian cyber warfare to be ratcheted up against western national government organisations (NGOs) and companies. It’s already happening.

BATM’s cyber offering set to surge:

*Cyber security business to “grow substantially” in 2022.
*Further large government defence cybersecurity contracts likely to be won.
*Growth in diagnostic orders for non-Covid-19 diseases offsets an anticipated slowdown in sales of Covid-19 diagnostic kits.
*Closing cash pile of $64.7mn (£48.7mn) net of borrowings equates to a fifth of market capitalisation.

BATM Advanced Communications (BVC:53p), a provider of medical laboratory systems, diagnostic kits, cybersecurity and network solutions, has released annual results as I previewed last week (‘Bargain hunting in the tech sector carnage’, 21 February 2022). I will not dwell on last year’s financial performance which was in line with my analysis. The positive outlook has not changed, either; management guidance points to current year underlying cash profit rising from $15.1mn to $18.1mn on 13 per cent higher revenue of $158mn.

Of far more interest right now are prospects for the group’s cybersecurity business, which provides advanced cyber defence capabilities for large volume high-speed network traffic. The unit accounted for 25 per cent of the $20.7mn revenue reported from BATM’s network and cyber division in 2021, so it is relatively small part of the overall group. But the cyber business won an $18mn contract with a long-standing defence department customer last year and expect “many more government defence contract wins this year”, according to chief executive Dr Zvi Marom. The geopolitical backdrop couldn’t be any more favourable.

BATM is also developing a new cyber security solutions product to address a growing market opportunity “beyond the defence industry”. It will be released in the second half, and is likely to be in demand as more organisations look to protect themselves from cybersecurity attacks. For example, UK window replacement firm Safestyle (SFE) reported a 10 per cent hit to first-half revenue today due to interruptions caused to order processing and customer service levels following last month’s Russian cybersecurity attack. Strix (KETL), a global leader in kettle safety controls, has been a target, too. The Isle of Man-based company reports no financial impact, but it highlights the threat of Russian interference nonetheless.

BATM’s closing cash pile of $64.7mn (£48.7mn) net of bank borrowings was better than I had anticipated, some of which will be used on a share buyback programme, subject to shareholder approval. Trading on a modest enterprise valuation to cash profit multiple of 13.5 times, and with further contract wins likely for BATM’s edge computing and network function virtualisation product suite, Edgility, the shares rate a buy.

Paulisi, no I don’t think that’s the answer. Capital gains derived by corporations in Israel are generally taxed at the same rate as ordinary income. So the effective tax rate shouldn’t change. The only thing I can think of is maybe the carrying value of NG Soft was higher in the IFRS accounts than that allowed for tax purposes. I’ll ask tonight.

Unsurprisingly with recent world events cyber is on steroids.
Edgility revenue starting to trickle in as expected.
Ador and Nat Lab reader will be a developing story with new RCA platform being introduced in May.
Margins and cash all up considerably.

These are all underpinning BATM future

Further point on the shorting brigade : What about the large short position taken out by the recent 'Rat' bear raid, and its supporters.? Or will that have likely been closed out by now. How low is 'too low' for them ? Anyone's guess i suppose....

Well, it’s great until you look at the eps. It’s being killed by an effective 37.5% tax rate! Corporation tax in Israel is a perfectly reasonable 23% so what is going on? Any ideas?

Think most of the Sp increase was already baked in after the nice pop of Friday, Sp has risen from 46-47p low a week or so ago, we need to get rid of this shorter/seller to see a significant increase, I'm expecting a gradual return to around the 70p mark in the next month or so, imho

Great set of results, BVC isn't just a Covid one trick pony. Share buyback real positive with Zvis circa 22% of stock less for market manipulation, just like to know if 10% buyback shares will be cancelled?

Very comprehensive set of results.Initial thoughts - NFV revenue not yet kicked in, but should start in 2022 which much higher margins. Split was much higher than I remember.Growth in all areas. Massive cash balance.

Ironically the share price move will put BVC on the radar for top movers and may well highlight the WTF factor ! which in turn may signal how oversold these are.
Its worth mentioning that in times like this BATM has usually been regarded as a defensive stock due to it being well funded and not needing to go to the market to advance its offerings so to speak.
