28/7/2023 14:27 | Workers at AG Barr have warned the company’s Irn-Bru brand could be in short supply after announcing dates for a fresh strike over pay. Members of Unite union will walk out at the Scottish soft drinks manufacturer after rejecting a fresh 5% pay offer. Nine 24-hour strikes will take place between 11 August and 6 October at AG Barr’s distribution centre in Cumbernauld, Dunbartonshire. There will also be a continuous ban on overtime, to begin on 8 August. | philanderer
21/7/2023 23:59 | 'AG Barr’s Boost brand in trademark battle with Britvic’s Robinsons ' AG Barr’s energy and sports-focused beverage brand Boost has accused Britvic of passing off its trademark with Robinsons’ newly launched functional squash range. Boost filed an intellectual property claim on Friday, 14 July, which is thought to relate to Robinsons’ ‘Boost’ squash variant. Robinsons’ launched the trio of wellness-focused premium squashes in May this year, each fortified with different vitamins and named Immunity, Vitality and Boost. The ‘Boost’ variant contains vitamin B6 to energise consumers. The brand also sells a ‘Boost’ version of its concentrated on-the-go vitamin-enhanced squash drops launched in April last year. Boost Drinks’ claims to own the trademark for the word ‘boost’ under, covering non-alcoholic beverage categories, including squashes, hydration drinks and other dilutable beverages. | philanderer

23/5/2023 12:03 | I don't think that reads across to Moma. Here's what the article says: "But it appears the boom-time for some vegan products may now be over. While Oatly’s range of oat drinks enjoys high demand, the Swedish company confirmed last week it was withdrawing its ice-cream tubs from the UK market." The article talks about various "products" launched with clever names by big players. I suggest that most vegans are turned off by packaged food, certainly when it comes from the likes of Coca Cola or Nestle. They are very environmentally conscious and are much more likely to shop in their local fruit and veg shop for fresh produce. I speak as someone with a wife and four out of five children who have all turned vegetarian. On the previous post on the two new flavours, I have bought an eight pack of each from my local Home Bargains and thoroughly approve. The ice cream flavour is my pick of the two. Interestingly its me an the non veggie child that are consumers of Irn Bru too. Not sure if thats connected | makinbuks
22/5/2023 13:54 | Trendy vegan brands are set for a wipeout, experts predict The latest casualty in the flatlining vegan market is Oatly, the Swedish oat milk firm, which has been forced to withdraw its dairy-free ice cream in the UK, The Observer reports | philanderer

08/5/2023 10:12 | Rising input costs and silly Scottish Government policy (now on hold) have taken their toll. With a recession still likely or at least a couple of years of stagnant growth a PE of 15 is reasonable. As I've said before I think we're in a £5 - £6 trading range for some time | makinbuks
