Does anyone use premarket data to help with their day trades. Not that I've traded the US market, but I think they have a number of instruments/indicators for people interested in such things?

Guys, someone has already raised the point that there's too much attention focused on Ken's trading system. It is interesting but feel that too much emphasis is focused on it here. I understand this is 'Ken's thread' but feel the balance is wrong. Ken has another thread dedicated to the purpose.
Gauging the direction of the FTSE is the bedrock of any short term trader and is therefore relevant here. However a better balance in favour of Barclays would be more desirable in my opinion. No disrespect intended as I appreciate that many who follow Ken's system are experienced investors/traders.

Hmm noted...

You'd think people had better things to do with their time, some kind of mental weakness I guess.

Sorry but thread has been ruined by a system that at best
earns peanuts,which eventually will fail.
Their is no system which works for a long period of time.

I think you'll find knight146 is another of the northerner's attempts at humour.

If knight146 can point to one of his posts that does not mention Ken's system then he has my apologies.

RobertFaulkner,

Give it a chance :) the day isn't finished yet and could as easily change. Ken is trying to achieve at least 2 successful trades a week, which consistently offset the expected loses. On performance so far, he has done remarkably well. Also bearing in mind the system is designed to have minimal setup and intervention (none being the norm). I think this is one of the great advantages, as it stops the trader reacting on perceived market change and adjusting after the fact

Hi Knight,

Although I've only just had a chance to look at whats happening, I hope Ken doesn't mind me answering.

Ken and Theta will only have one order in play that is the short @ 5720. Referring to the pdf

If my open is above the previous day's Pivot Point and below the previous day's R1, then the trades for each index will consist of

- 1 long to open at R1 which will close by selling if the price reaches R2, and
- 1 short to open at the PP which will close by buying if the price reaches S1.

If my open is below the previous day's Pivot Point and above the previous day's S1, then the trades for each index will consist of

- 1 long to open at the PP which will close by selling if the price reaches R1,
- 1 short to open at S1 which will close by buying if the price reaches S2.

No Long should have triggered as yet.

Thanks Ken, Theta

I didn't think any broker guaranteed an exact order fill, often there is slippage? I'm tracking the trades and wanted to have the correct figures for analysis.

Also, there are only 4 possible 'close out' prices, R2, R1, S1, S2.

That's if the trade is successful.

Capricious - I don't understand your question. Today's trade was £9pp long @ 5,704 with a limit of 38.5 points, therefore the close would be @ 5,742.5 and the profit £9 x 38.5 = £346.50. Remember that the form I post in the header is rounded and the actual figures are shown under the 5 day record link as PP = 5,704.41 (rounded down to 5,704) and R1 = 5,742.88 so take off 5,704.41 = 38.47 (rounded up to 38.5).

I hope that helps.

Hi Ken,

What was the close out price for the buy order? Could you add that when posting on your successful closed orders? Doesn't have to be on the header, just to a normal posts.

Thanks

good to see barc made almost 10 points.

will Osborne destroy the joy of many tomorrow in announcing further cuts except of course his wages.

interest rate rise will then follow at some point to further screw the british citizen and re-balance the cost of printing all this money to aid MP's in their second and third home purchases.

WE GOT YOU SUSSED
