01/9/2017 07:24 | I'm a long standing customer and I feel really let down by Barclays. Like so many others I am investigating alternatives. I have yet to read anywhere a single word of praise for the new platform. It seems clear that Barclays want to exit share dealing services. | alfred
01/9/2017 07:05 | I have been using Barclays for 20 odd years with no problems! Until now. | johnv
01/9/2017 06:33 | I've been using I-dealing for about 15 years with no complaints.. 5GBP/qtr fees, around 10GBP dealing cost (less if you pre-buy in bulk), DMA, etc. Excellent customer support. Worth considering if you're looking to move. | steve73
31/8/2017 23:43 | Well done you selling all in advance. Wish I'd done the same now. I'm sure you know iWeb is a cut-down Halifax. Should be fine. But do open a dummy account at IG. Brilliant platform and price. And Level 2 for peanuts. Meanwhile, I will have a gander at iWeb tomorrow. SI are going to lose out bigtime. When I spoke to Shareprice today, the guy said they'd had hundreds of enquiries since Tuesday! We live and learn! | gmmorris
31/8/2017 23:07 | Nope just sold all my stocks in advance and transferred the cash out straight into my current account. I'll continue using iWeb, which is just £5 a trade and no fees, uses the Halifax platform but is no frills. | smurfy2001
31/8/2017 22:49 | Smurfy - did you arrange with your new broker to transfer your stocks from SI to them? I imagine that will take a good few days, during which of course we will have no ability to trade them. And what will SI charge?! | gmmorris
31/8/2017 22:38 | I've transferred all my cash out of this but there appears to be no account closure button ugh. Took two tries to get the cash out. | smurfy2001
31/8/2017 21:53 | No sorry mate. Was aware of needing funds to allow buys but in my case I cannot get a quote for a sell. As I say the Barclays guy could but I just get a message back. Thanks for the suggestion anyway. | codhead1
31/8/2017 21:48 | Coolhead1 - unlike previously, you now need cash in the account before you can BUY. Another backward step. Was that the problem possibly? | gmmorris
31/8/2017 20:49 | does not give you price window when you try to trade so you do not know price like used to before. log you out after 5 min !!! w done BARC, increase time. | jaws6
31/8/2017 20:48 | Guys anyone had same problem and got a fix? cannot get a quote via quote and deal. Got through to help desk after over an hour of music and he could get a quote no problem but could not explain why I could not. It just comes back- unable to complete this transaction. The solution at present is to phone in for deals and i will be given internet rates till the tech guys fix it. Not confident they will fix so if anybody else has had similar experiences. I have tried various browsers and devices and all the same using my account access. Looks like an account setup issue but if any else has fixed similar issues then advice would be really appreciated. | codhead1
31/8/2017 20:32 | 0800 279 3667 7.30am til 7.00pm. Put the phone on loudspeaker get on with something else and wait for the lassie from glasgow to answer. If you were planning on decorating a room that would be good | s2lowner
31/8/2017 20:07 | No am getting on and then randomly booted out, not come across error 1176 yet, looks like a customer service job johnv | s2lowner
31/8/2017 19:59 | Hi, managed to log on to the Smart Investor website and do a couple of trades on Tuesday, since then been unable to log on. Keep getting error 1176. Is this what you guys I getting, thought I had the wrong memorable name. | johnv
31/8/2017 19:44 | Sub 150p highly likely if the rest of the business is being managed in the same way as Barclays Stockbrokers, the company is fast becoming a disaster. | neilrich
31/8/2017 19:21 | Not looking too hot is it Sub 150p again ? | buywell3
31/8/2017 19:15 | I'd agree, hope Barclays are listening, Smart Investor ain't so smart!! They need to change the platform back, unfortunately a U-turn is required. I'm all for change, but this is far from progress. | neilrich
31/8/2017 19:02 | Their closing prices are all over the place. Just to add to the frustration this site is now causing. It is difficult to believe that they could have made such a pigs ear out of this. Did they not consult or listen to their customers before they embarked on 'Smart Investor'? They better had now and fast. | dhmace
31/8/2017 19:01 | Strangely enough their transfer accounts tab does not work!! | neilrich
31/8/2017 18:18 | For Smart Investor, is it just me or are you seeing that the Last Price doesn't match the last price of the market? For BOO for example, it's using Last Price as 176 when the actual closing price is more like around 230! | simonong84
31/8/2017 14:34 | No you should have got 4 letters 2 pin no and 2 membership no. One of each to get online another to be able to transact by phone. I got 2 pin letters and no membership no letters so had to queue for customer services for over 1.50 hours to be given membership nos so I could go online Note they have confirmed to day that some investments are being flagged as no longer eligible for isa this is a mistake that occurred during migration and they are sorting Took me about 20min to get through to find that out If you can leave it a few days maybe the queues will ease off. If you need to trade they did say they would do telephone dealing at online rates but you would need the telephone letters with pin and membership no Another thing I found out today was that the ID reference next to your account when you go online will do for security purposes rather than membership no as its only 6 digit its easier to remember | s2lowner
31/8/2017 13:39 | Smart Investor is bonkers. They haven't even sent me a new account ID so I can't even attempt to login. They don't answer the phone either. I'm off to HL for sure with everything. Did anyone get new ID numbers to login with in the post? | sea and sky |
