SANTANDER CUSTOMER'S EXPERIENCE:
My accounts been froze
My accounts been froze
Santander can ... stick it where the sun don't shine I've gone back to Nat West. |
SANTANDER CUSTOMER'S EXPERIENCE:
Don't use this bank
Don't use this bank if you transfer money they will block your card ... and they don't care if you need food or water or even pay bills. |
SANTANDER CUSTOMER'S EXPERIENCE:
DO NOT DEAL WITH SANTANDER!!!!!
Absolute sharks …
They charged me interest 3 times in the space of 1 week and the agent could not articulate why.
... I asked for a manager and was refused.
FSA need to investigate these sharks...
Do NOT bank with this bank. Stay with the pros instead. |
SANTANDER CUSTOMER'S EXPERIENCE:
Transfers of large amounts
We tried to pay our outstanding balance on our holiday and 3 times this was refused. I have ample money in the account to cover it. This is the 2nd time we have experienced this and previously when buying a vehicle Santander refused to pay and we had to visit the local branch 3 times before the transfer went through. |
SANTANDER CUSTOMER'S EXPERIENCE:
DO NOT DEAL WITH SANTANDER!!!!!
Definitely the worst organisation I have ever had to deal with.
It's hard to believe how awful and immoral this 'bank' is.
.... Utterly useless, disgraceful, scummy, trashy company.
.... This is not a company, this is not anything. This brand is beyond evil and if you are with them. GET OUT! |
SANTANDER CUSTOMER'S EXPERIENCE:
No Service or Decency.
No Customer Service, ... an evil disgrace of a business. Avoid at all costs. |
SANTANDER CUSTOMER'S EXPERIENCE:
Coincidence? No.
I fear there's hundreds out there in same situation.
You just need to read the negative reviews in the past 96 hours on here to realise something is amiss - and it's not the customers.
...Out of the blue, just like that, decided to block me out of my own account? For no valid reason.
At this vital time when I need access to my account! (I really can't stress this enough without explanation).
...Getting in contact with FCA, no mucking about. |
SANTANDER CUSTOMER'S EXPERIENCE:
Poor access to own account
I was trying to renew my motor insurance online with RAC. I attempted to pay twice and on both occasions it was declined by Santander. There are more than sufficient funds in my current account to cover the relatively small amount. My husband made the transfer with no problems from his Barclays account. Another time we had a very embarrassing experience when trying to buy a motorhome from a private seller. We had to visit Santander in person 3 times before they would release our money and the seller obviously became concerned. I note that Santander scores poorly on reviews and I think it may be time for me to consider changing banks. |
SANTANDER CUSTOMER'S EXPERIENCE:
Cards cancelled whilst in Texas
Recently while in Texas, Santander blocked both my credit and cash cards.
They do not have to tell that your cards are blocked!
You only find out when they are refused.
... I am 82 years old and travelling solo. Thanks to the kindness of strangers I managed for the last six days of my holiday. |
SANTANDER CUSTOMER'S EXPERIENCE:
Tragic bank that is blocking your bank account when you are abroad |
SANTANDER CUSTOMER'S EXPERIENCE:
I'm dying.
Did a bank switch and they blocked my account immediately.
I've been left destitute now for 11 days I am becoming emaciated and am at risk of losing my job because I can't pay to travel. Definitely avoid at all costs. They told me to go to a food bank ok I'll just walk the 3 hours there and back in my condition... I will be closing my account asap. |
SANTANDER CUSTOMER'S EXPERIENCE:
Blocked.
One step too far. Once I have access to my account returned it will be bye bye Santander after 25 years. |
SANTANDER CUSTOMER'S EXPERIENCE:
Can’t login online
As other reviewers here, I have the same issue with the login. It’s in a loop, every time I select an option it logs me out and requires my details again. Can’t do anything. And I’m using the website, not even the app. |
SANTANDER CUSTOMER'S EXPERIENCE:
Absolute Pants
I have been with Santander since it acquired the Girobank and Alliance Leicester ... I took out their Everyday Credit Card ... Nothing but trouble despite actually paying in advance and clearing the amount prior to the due date it shows a credit balance yet still tells me I have to pay the minimum amount and the owed balanced remained the same despite my full payment resulting in a £12 charge???? They weren't interested in putting it right so I closed my Credit Card account and will now close my Current account and my Instant Saver account and change to First Direct. |
SANTANDER CUSTOMER'S EXPERIENCE:
When is a 12 Month ISA not 12 Months?...
So, I took out a 12 month fixed rate ISA on the 6th April expecting it to mature 12 months later... wrong !
Santander will not mature your ISA until 1st May, so in effect they tie up your money for nearly 13 months. I questioned this with Santander employees and was told "You can't take out your money without penalty" (after 12 months had passed) and "Your ISA has matured today on May 1st, but we won't pay you the interest until May 2nd. So nearly 13 months on and Santander has not paid out the interest on my ISA... Never again! |
SANTANDER CUSTOMER'S EXPERIENCE:
Santander Fraud Team.
In the last week I had my online service blocked for transferring funds. You may think it would be a straight forward and easy process to restore access to the online service particularly when you telephone twice and attend the local branch twice all in the same day. Wrong. I was detained while the agent explained to me that she was 'trained in fraud' perhaps it may have been useful if she was 'trained' in customer service. I was forced to listen to her treat me like a five year old. While she reminded me of her authority - she was not the only one. Absolutely vile experience. Complaint raised and will refer to banking ombudsman. Account closed and others to be transferred. |
SANTANDER CUSTOMER'S EXPERIENCE:
Santander blocked my account for no good reason...
Santander blocked my account for "security reasons". They couldn't tell me what these reasons were other than they didn't like a perfectly normal bank transfer request. They then demanded to know what my payment was for. I considered that this was non of their business so they are now effectively holding my account to ransom until I comply with their unreasonable demands. I'll be closing my account. |
 SANTANDER CUSTOMER'S EXPERIENCE:
Fraud Protection Nonsense
As per others, fraud team blocking my account when trying to pay £8k for a used car.
Took me over an hour to sort out, involving me having to answer ridiculous questions while being barked at "YOU'RE PROBABLY BEING SCAMMED". No, I'm not, what I am at risk of is losing the purchase of the car due to Santander's behaviour.
What really took the absolute biscuit - and appeared to be the determiner of whether they would allow the payment was whether I could provide details and dates of transactions on my account - THIS IS THE ACCOUNT YOU'VE BLOCKED MY ACCCESS TO, HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO CHECK MY ACCOUNT AND TELL YOU THIS. I was reduced to a ridiculous "guessing game" "I think I might have spent £10.50 in Tesco last Tuesday?" while the bemused seller of the car sat there in embarrassment.
If Santander insist on this crude fraud prevention system they should write to their customers and warn them that relatively normal transactions are likely to be prevented so they can choose to bank elsewhere. |
SANTANDER CUSTOMER'S EXPERIENCE:
I’ve been with Santander for 20 years
blocked all my cards
They blocked all my cards the weekend I was going to take my family away we had to cancel I would not recommend this bank, customer service is rubbish. |
SANTANDER CUSTOMER'S EXPERIENCE:
I’ve been with Santander for 20 years
The whole time I have had my British army salary paid into my account. I’ve now left the military and have my army pension being paid in. Something about that is clearly suspicious. I’ve received email and text messages threatening to restrict my account and stop my direct debits if I don’t call the number provided ... I’ll be switching banks asap. |
SANTANDER CUSTOMER'S EXPERIENCE:
Do NOT bank with this mob
Do NOT bank with this mob, even if it's the only bank on the planet. I travelled 6 hrs to buy a vehicle and when I was transferring the £25000, they blocked my account. I called them to say I was happy to make the transaction but they claimed I could be a victim of fraud. I was on the driveway of the sellers house, with the vehicle beside me but they refused to unblock my account. They asked me to do a HPI check, making out if it all came back clear, all would be well. My account is still blocked and I had to travel 6hrs back home with no campervan. I'm now having to go back down again this weekend. They also made out that they were doing you the biggest favour ever in protecting you from fraud. Thankyou Santander for the worst and most stressful weekend of my life. |
SANTANDER CUSTOMER'S EXPERIENCE:
Blocked my account!
Blocked my account because my friend sent me a transaction so it could help pay off my debts. It’s been a week & I’ve still not had any luck! Am a new customer & I don’t think I will be sticking around! They make you feel like criminals. |
andplus - I've not even started on them yet, this is just the groundworks! If they don't buckle up and get their grubby hands off my cash, within six months I'll bankrupt them. I've fought bigger and brought a multi billion dollar corporation to it's knees. They have no idea who they targeted. Imagine 100 IT kids in India dedicated to making every single Santander customer and shareholder around the world aware of the truth that they are broke and stealing/hijacking customers money just to stay afloat. Imagine a bank run on Santander. I DARE them to keep holding onto my money!
For the next couple of days, I'm holding back from starting on contacting institutional shareholders declared on RNS, but if Santander doesn't return my cash to me by Friday, then every single shareholder that is declared through RNS are going to be made aware of this thread and my X account so that they can be made aware of the truth that this Titanic is heading straight for the iceberg. |
