I have tried to make a payment of £100 over the mobile app to my friend. Received a text from santander saying to phone the fraud department. The other side started to ask silly questions in my opinion, regarding my payment, ... started with some questions: Do you know this person? How long you know this person? Where you meet this person? Is she local? Where did you meet her? Is she your girlfriend? And so on almost nothing regarding why my payment was blocked.
Started to be upset answering for questions regarding my privacy not regarding the £100 been blocked.
She was proudly saying that I had to answer all of those questions because otherwise she couldn't release the payment that anyway wasn't made in the end. After 7 years of business account after 7 years of personal account yesterday I went to the bank and I said ciao. 7 years of pain. STAY AWAY! |

Santander have truly broken our family
CHAPS payment sent before deadline with assurance the payment would be made.
This was a large payment for house completion. The funds never arrived, house completion failed. We are now HOMELESS with an 11 month old.
NOBODY at Santander has been able to help. They don't want to know. No empathy, no apology.
We are now in breach of contract on the house completion and will need to pay all reasonable costs for the houses above us in the chain.
This is going to cost us a HUGE amount - money we simply don't have.
It's honestly broken me. Hours spent on the phone with Santander got me nowhere. I don't know where to turn. Typing this whilst sat in a ridiculously expensive hotel (everything else booked) with no idea if we will be able to compete today.
All of this due to Santander. I'm lost, tired, homeless and utterly broken from the past 48 hours. |

Refusing to let me transfer my own money to another account in my name
15mins on the app trying to transfer money out of my own account into another another account in my name so I don't go overdrawn.
After around 30 security checks asking me to confirm my identity, enter security codes correct that santander sent to my phone.
I get told by the app its fraud and my transfer has been blocked and I must call them immediately. I call them immediately and then spend an hour on the phone still being refused access to my own money.
This is going to cause me to go overdrawn on another account due to refusal to let me transfer my own money. Refusal to let me speak to a manager and refusal to let me open a complaint. |

Decided to block access to my account because I am chasing a better rate with Chase. They have told me to visit a branch to get it unblocked. They took my money ok without visiting a branch but when you want the money out, it’s a different story. |

Since Santander are ignoring our complaint we will begin legal action to regain our property and privacy from Santander.

Worse bank I have interacted with, tried to move my money to another of my accounts, was declined, I had to ring them, spending over an hour waiting, being transferred, until finally I was cleared to move my money, after a long speech how wonderful they were, and 50% of the time it was scams, not their customers. I try to use the banks app as it avoids speaking to rude, unhelpful, patronising Staff (in this instance Santander) but their app is particularly useless. Moved everything away from them, although it is easier to open accounts than to close them. Not sure how much longer they will survive against challenger banks, offering decent apps and better rates, great customer satisfaction. ie Atom, Zopa, to name but two. |

My account has been completely blocked once already and now my card has been blocked!!
I've only had this account for two months and I have the impression that Santander wants to rob me of my money.
It's scary to go anywhere, even abroad, because you don't know if your account will be blocked for some reason and you'll end up in a bind. terrible surveillance. Beware of this bank!! The worst bank I have ever had in my life!

But luckily I have already activated the switch to my old bank TSB. Only six more days, I must be afraid that you will block my money for no reason. Also, the mobile app is rubbish!! |

Terrible bank been with them from Abbey national to santandead banks absolutely useless constantly having problems with the app now the accounts completely blocked waiting times on the phone are outrageous definitely leaving this bank this time. |

If you need confirmation of why we should avoid a cashless society open a Santander account.
You will find that they can block your account, at will, under the pretext of protecting you from scams . They talk to you as if you are simple and want to know what you are spending your own money on.
They hate transferring your money to different banks that have better interest rates than theirs and make the transaction very difficult for you.
I’m all for extra security but Santander take it to another level. This is just the thin end of the wedge. |

Santander Business Banking worst bank in world
Santander Business Banking is actually the worst customer service I have ever received. I have now spent 6 hours trying to resolve an issue. They refuse to accept a complaint (even in writing as per their website) They blocked our account and then were impossible to contact (and still are) We already closed our main account because they were so useless. Once I finally get our blocked account open we'll close it! And they call it Business Banking. |

I would rate Santander as zero if permitted. I accepted "their switch offer".. only to be told after the 90 days that the switch offer incentive was not valid.. Their own switch offer !!! ... It's not a bank you can trust given my experience.. switch to a more honest bank. Don't trust Santander. |
