Re GOLD please remember that a lot of ASIANs/Indians buy the physical stuff, In a shop they sell it by weight, and local's trade it, with Chinese New Year around the corner the must also be a retail demand.

There are loads of such shps where I am, and suprise suprise as the price has moved up so has the sales.

The other thing to note is the greenback just isn't wanted out here and the local currency, in my case Thai Baht is doing OK thanks.

OK - I've got a lovely bottle of san pellegrino carbonated here - cheap at 1 bar of gold. Nice green bottle, unopend too. :@) I'll throw in a wooly jumper as well. How's that?

lol....well my penny's worth is I think paying $400 for a oz of rock is bloody rediculous. Even if we had a world war and cash became worthless I would rather own a sheep or a bottle of water than a bar of gold

I'd say! What with all the talk of 2:1 $/GBP. - It was so much easier to work out back then :)

When the $ drops gold becomes less expensive in foreign currencies. It's also used as a hedge against a $ decline. That's my tuppence worth anyway!

SPX to find support at 1025?

must be a hell of lot easier of US domestic gold traders who deal in $ than others who have to worry about exchange rates if they want to buy or sell gold other reasons than changes in exchange rates.

edit: but I suppose most biig traders have $ accounts anyway so probably doesnt make to much difference. Interesting stuff
