I should have added that there is no harm in trying

Gizmo, If you get an answer at all it will obviously be yes on both counts, anything other than that would be an admission that they are no longer trying and they would never say that.

Morning whoppy and all. I have just mailed Simon Potter asking the obvious and if he can shed some light on a) is his office door is still open and b) whether he is still in talks regarding a deal, we shall see if I get a rely.

Obviously have to be tight lipped keeping, an orderly market, as the news of a farmout is instantly a company maker at this stage and then the speculation of finding huge oil with a drilling programme. The way to do it is to make a sudden 'ta daaa' announcement and then a huge rise rewarding the longterm holders, so any not in, will struggle to buy below 8p. I'm hopeful as it's not like there hasn't been a lot of leg work gone into this over the years, and the majors and independents have just been waiting for the moment that allows for investment in finding new oil reserves for the longterm. We just hope BPC and it's assets are part of that and management are able to land a deal, as there is no excuse now.

The 20 SMA has moved through the 30 SMA, and is just about touching the 50 SMA.

stewart4980 - given that the vast majority of shareholders are retail, the BoD are concerned about them but as ever, being AIM-listed means that the NOMAD controls whatever they may want to say. The result is that they are tight-lipped though the FD, Ben Proffitt is very good at talking to shareholders when they contact him - but he can't let cats out of bags. He usually exudes calm reassurance!!

Is it worth trying to contact the company. I don't mind. They won't tell me anything but you can normally tell from their voice if all's well

It can't go on forever. Just another day nearer to a result. Hopefully one we all want. I take no news as positive as it should mean partners are going into detail of a deal and therefore are keen to land something. In other words not a flat No...but a yes?

It's difficult to interpret near term ? months or years and another stack of patience.

You did well selling at 3.5p!

I couldn’t sell but off loaded a small trading position at 2p that day around 11am.

I’m holding a few now for news. The trouble with this company it’s almost impossible to read unless you pick up the phone and call them. The offshore drilling environment is picking up, but this is still frontier drilling, costly and in a sensitive area.

I’m guessing the Chinese or US independents are closer to offering BPC a good deal now rather than an oil major.

Let’s hope the advisors can push this one over the line “near term”.

Don't have a huge number here but quite a few hundred thousand so with a decent partner could be good.

I watched this about the time it was 20p and decided not to invest but when it hit 1.5p and .6p I bought quite a few sold at 3.5p when the major walked, about 8.00am and 30 seconds so lucky. I bought back the same day about 1.5p from memory and have held since.

Does this company ever issue an update on the position they must know that people are expecting something, its either a partner and 10p plus or zero I would say, they do not seem to bother about the retail investor.

Energy reforms spur Mexican offshore revival

Wave of interest

The decision to permit international energy companies to operate in Mexican waters has unleashed a wave of interest that is gathering momentum. In 2017, a total of 107 companies won bids on development blocks offered by the National Hydrocarbons Commission, the main government agency for the industry. “The Pemex budget [about US$14Bn in 2018] and significant investment from these bids make the upstream oil and gas sector attractive for growth over the next few years,” predicts Mexico’s export ministry.

Thanks Linton, sounds really positive. Hopefully commitment in 2018 from 2019's budget.

Afternoon gents see you didn't go crazzy in my absence then, dinner was lovely but so was the company, back to her place, no before you think it, not in China, close this morning though when she came to me but still no cigar. A bit like Bpc you have to wait a while.
