Saudi really wants to get rid of as many expats as possible in all industries. Trouble is , they are not very good at managing , too corrupt and nepotistic.

I do like the look of the share price ; almost tempted to trade a few out....
No, on second thoughts, so much looks good here that I won't until £7.

Reliability continues to improve, but slowly...

The F-35 Joint Strike Fighter reportedly still doesn’t work right, according to the latest annual report from the Pentagon’s chief weapons-tester.

Time will tell that's for sure.

US/China definitely ramped up spending. Vaguely recall USA budgeted to spend another $60-70bn odd extra for this year alone...

I'm more in the Deloitte school of thought. 3-4% global defence expenditure growth this year ought to be enough to underpin guidance with a few extras perhaps.

Laser-guided rockets and HMS Prince of Wales help defence giant BAE Systems sail to higher profits

BAE recently completed the £1.7billion purchase of two defence businesses
The company has an order backlog of £45.4billion from countries like Australia
HMS Prince of Wales has a flight deck big enough to house three football pitches

"Collins acquisition news was known on 20 January btw."

?

I didn't mention any acquisition in the above results post.

Am also well aware of that thanks.

Didn't feel the need to post it at the time as it's contingent on Raytheon/United Technologies merger getting regulatory approval!

As far as I can see that regulatory approval is still pending...

There is this story

"28 Jan 2020 - United Technologies updates investors on how the company is moving on its ... subsidiary in order to get regulatory approval for the merger with Raytheon, which ... Antitrust regulators directed UTC and Raytheon to make the ..."

Access restricted for me though so can't get the latest scoop.

Pretty reasonable results though given the noticeable ramp up in US/Chinese and ROTW defence spending tad concerning to see both Order intake drop sharply to 18.447bn(from prior years £28.28bn), and Order backlog fall £45.4bn (2018 £48.4bn)

More concerning is the £1.9bn pension deficit!

There will be a one off payment of £1bn, to be funded by DEBT.
Debt though is currently manageable, having fallen to £743m(Down £160m odd from prior year)

But an extra £1bn is a large chump of change.

"At the 31st October 2019 funding valuation date, the deficit was £1.9bn.
Under that revised plan:

A one off payment of £1bn is to be made in the coming months - this will be debt funded.

In addition, c.£240m of funding is payable in the scheme year ending 31 March 2020 and c.£250m by 31 March 2021, in line with existing commitments"

Plenty to be positive about though.

Aye nice set of results. Can sleep relatively easy with this one!Another div increase. Circa 3.5% yield but double that for longer term holders. Lovely.

I think there is going to be a more substantive share price rise than the 15p we have seen already today; those results are full of good news.
